[Question] Console Key

Hai there.

 

I would like to know if there's a way to change which key toggles the console menu.

My keyboard uses key #1 which is the quotation marks ' and " to open the console.

However there is no way for me to type the quotation marks inside the console because it will instantly close it.

So does anyone know how could i fix that? I would like to change the toggleconsole key to ~ (tilde) key [which is not the nº 1 key here).

Skyrim\Data\Interface\Controls\pc\controlmap.txt

Look for "console", there are multiple entries

Change 0x29 to another keycode

EDIT: Nevermind! lol.

I just found this on Nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/368

Which i could make a copy of the controlmap.txt inside it and remap the console key to Home (0xC7) and it worked like a charm!

Thanks alot really! Now i can finally filter what shows up in my console whenever i search something!

Hah, the console key can be a pain on non-US keyboards, I know. Using the standard German keyboard layout, the ~ key is mapped to my ^ key which results in lots of ^^^s everytime I issue a console command. I'm glad you managed to find a solution! I'm not annoyed enough by it to apply a fix. I just wanted to give you a pat on the shoulder. You're not alone in this. *nods wisely*
