Anyone Solved Groundhog Day?

All I know is, that MCCC messes with the time and ages and stuff - so this might be related

Can't check, since I uninstalled this broken game, as for the moment :D

Posted (edited)

just out of curiosity I re-installed the game and all the latest mods-versions I could find and... dang
The game doesn't even save for me :D

I save, restart the game and everything is set back to Sunday 00:00 - everythings gone, relationships, traits, the house.... everything :D

EDIT:
someone in the MCCC discord help channel told me, it is an EA bug...
But I just cleared my mods folder - and without any mods, the game works just fine

so.... 50/50 method, here I come

Yeah, I had to do the same, empty the mod folder and add back a mod and check, so far MCCC and WW work, added a few others.  I have problems with my old folder not being very organized.

were you able to find out, what causes the problem?

you said something about cc hair and/or cc shoes?

It's very doubtfull that cloth or hair mod is the issue.

It's more a script mod messing with save (saving extra data) or messing with the game clock.

I know...

but yesterday I started to check. And with all my script mods it worked fine.

Before with script mods and CC stuff, it did not work...

and he said, he narrowed it down to (apperently) CC shoes or/and hair

maybe it's a combination? or maybe need to update these thing with Sims4Studio - I don't know

ok, so...

I saved my mods-, tray- and saves folder. Un-installed the game. deleted the files in "my documents" and deleted the left over files in the install folder.

restarted my pc, re-installed the complete game with every single EP/AP/etc.

moved back my mods bit by bit and tested the game in between (with deleting the localthumbcache.package file) etc....
the problem is gone :D

everything works fine, no Groundhog Day anymore. Everything is saved. I can go into CAS or leave the game, it just resumes at the saved time with everything else set up...

I have no idea what causes this issue, since I have the exact same mods/CC installed and even use the save files (from WW, NWP, BM, etc)

I haven't gone thru the hair or shoe folders, I'm sure there is something else in them causing the problem.

Interesting...I've tried the repair game thru Origin and that didn't help.  Might try this.

I tested my game and this bug only happens with MCCC in. Some are experiencing the bug without mods, but I have no idea why MCCC seems to be the trigger for me and Deaderpool's discord says it's just a coincidence.

All mods conflicts are coincidences if they are not intentionnal. I've tested a week ago. MCCC alone, it worked (I mean no ground day bug). But with my complete mod list, it didn't. When I removef MCCC it worked. I don't think it's a conflict with DD or WW. Sorry I've no more clues. I began to search what mod(s) where in conflict, but I stopped as I decided to stop using MCCC for no foreseeable futur.

Yeah

before I deleted it completely, I had this bug

now, after reinstalling everything, the bug is gone

although I use the exact same mod/script/cc files as before and use MCCC as well

no more bugs

so it might be a coincidence, that for you, the bug is caused by MCCC - or maybe it's a combination of MCCC and one special other file... who knows

I've recently started having the Groundhog Day problem, going into CAS and the game resets to the same day and time.  Been taking mods out and nothing works so far.

Every time you delete or update mods you also have to delete localthumbcache.package, avatarcache.package and the contents of the cachestr folder. There is no problem in deleting them, when you run the game new ones will be generated.

The cache files store information about the mods and the cc of your game and when you delete or update one that gave you problems without deleting the cache the problem will continue.

Seems we are fucked. Unless EA fixes the game and stop dumping packs that are not ready the game is going to be a shit show.  Well, at least I have Skyrim, no wait that ones fucked up too.

I'm also having a similar issue, but it's clearly a loading problem: In the resume button I can see my Sim wearing his party outfit, because last time I played with him, he went to the nightclub at Windenburg and was wearing that. However, when I load the game he's wearing his cold weather clothing and it's the 3rd day of Autumn (a Tuesday) last time I played with him it was Saturday-Sunday night (Sunday about 2 am). He even started a relationship with another Sim, and now the information panel doesn't say they are a couple.
The thing is that, last time I played, I also started playing on the 3rd day of Autumn and then I also thought it was strange, but I ignored the problem thinking I didn't save, but that can't be the case twice, especially since the resume button shows my Sim wearing the outfit he last wore when I played.
I suspect  started happening after the last Sims Delivery

(I've never installed MCCC, so it can't be that, only WW, WP and BM, but I had to take out BM cuz it made doors dissappear).

In other websites I've seen people claim it's a Trendi app problem, but my Sim has never used it, and someone put the link of a mod that can act as a "band-aid" solution, but EA took it away, so I have no idea what mod it was.

Note: Sorry if I was terrible at explaining myself, but I've never been to an English speaking country, so, sorry in advance.

Hey all!

I had the issue as well but it seems that for me it was fixed (15+ hours playing, multiple households, and mods working with no problems whatsoever). I cannot say for sure what fixed it, but here's what I did:

NOTE: I do not own HSY pack.

- Update or just remove old mods: sliders, traits, functionality, anything that break the UI (Check every menu!) Traits especially, even if they appear to be working if they are not updated to the latest patch let's not risk it.

- Obviously WW, Nisa, MCCC, Basemental (All script mods, really) to the latest version.

- Clean the cache every time you remove/add mods.

* When restarting your save, do it from the Load menu (Once fixed, I went back to just using "continue" without problems).

** Never save your game with a naked sim on lot (Set WW to redress after sex to be sure).

*Try this first

**Try this second

Don't be afraid of the "50/50 method" and to let go of old mods, better to lose some hours, some households, and old functionality than the entire game.

since this big happens on PCs without any CC/mod, you are just lucky, that it works for you.

I re-installed the game twice, with and without mods - and I ran into this bug

since people have the same issue with ever even touching a mod (see link to the EA forum) there is no way, that a mod/cc is causing this ....

Try to bebuild your game, if you didn't.

I tried thaclones advice and reinstalled the game. Yes I took out the mods, tray and save files. After reinstalling game is playing ok, No groundhog day, yet. But when I tried to merge a person into another household the game freezes on the transfer screen.  I can move them back and forth, but can't exit the screen. Guess no moving around.
