Gerbur994 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 So I've noticed with the recent update to WW that my sims are going through a time loop? To explain for an example, I have my sims do some actions, basic actions, I also delete a few objects, lets say 5 hours pass in-game time, and then I decide to go to CAS to edit a sim. When I go back to my current lot(Sims home), my game is now reverted 5 hours back, losing all the progress I made within the 5 hours in-game time. That includes the deleted objects re-appearing. I don't get any LastExceptions log, I don't get any error, it just throws me in a time loop whenever I enter say, CAS, or leave to a different lot, to then come back. I know it's to do with WW, as I've tested removing all my mods, and WW was the only one causing the issue. Any idea what's up with that?
xRina89x Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I don't know what to do anymore either. I'm also waiting for a solution. Some have no problems and some have problems. And these are different. I started a new game and everything worked, and now it doesn't work again. This time I have the relationship bug which I didn't have before. One bug goes, another comes. Previously this only happened when my sims had sex, but I'm in game right now and they weren't having sex...I wasn't even in my household, just building on a lot. I had the time bug before too... don't ask how many times I restarted this fucking winter festival because the day kept repeating itself ?
coogara Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I've tried all kinds of things to fix this, and have run the game with WW as the only mod installed, in a new game, deleted avatarcache.package and localthumbcache.package. The issue continues to occur, even without any apparent WW actions. The additional issue is that when time jumps back, WW settings are reset to vanilla, right out of the box and I need to reload saved settings. The only way I can play Sims now with any reliability is to remove WW. There's been no word from the developer that this is an issue, AFAIK, nor from anyone else to confirm that this is fixable and being worked on. Perhaps the recent EA policy changes from EA has broken the spirit of Mod developers and they've downed tools indefinitely. Only kidding, but this is one frustrating bug.
xRina89x Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Yes, I've tried so many things too. Now my time bug is back. I also followed someone's tip to get the previous version of WW. But the bugs are still there, and I got error messages again. I tried it without WW in the game too and everything went back to normal. Then i read in another thread that someone on Reddit only plays vanilla and still has such a bug. Now I have absolutely no idea what it could be, it just confuses me even more.
coogara Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 For me it surfaces in particular when I leave a household and go to manage worlds, then open another household. That's when I notice I've gone back in time and the settings have reset. I'm at the point where I need to consider abandoning WW. The issue does not occur with any other mods. I've spent hours testing it.
coogara Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Version J is now available. Developer is hoping it deals with some of the issues.
coogara Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 So far it appears to be behaving properly. Nice job.
chemnashani Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I have the same issue. I know some people have the same issue with the base game ever since the highschool years patch arrived. The bugs I had: Resset all career, aspirations and relationships progress, going into world managing mode and coming back to a household where the members didn't know each other AT ALL (not just resseting relationships, those siblings had total amnesia), and the time resset thing. It's been Halloween everyday for the past weeks. I uninstalled all mods and the relationships, careers and aspirations are working, but there is still the timeloop problem. (I only have wickedwhims, height sliders and Tmex betterexceptions (which fails to locate the problem. I get reports but with no useful info) I think the modders are waiting for EA to patch the timeloop problem? I went to the EA forum and this bug was talked about everywhere. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one, it means it will get fixed eventually
DarkAudit Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 3 minutes ago, chemnashani said: it means it will get fixed eventually Today, perhaps? Groundhog Day is one of the expected fixes.
Botbottom Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 (edited) I have the same issue. I just don´t use the CAS while I am playing, just when I start the game I go to the list of families and change what I need to change and then I play and don´t use the CAS. I don´t know if it´s going to be solved with today´s patch. Is safe to use wicked whims with this patch or do we need to wait for an update? Edited September 13, 2022 by Botbottom
