Skyrim Anniversary Edition Mods? Which Mods work and which don't?

First of all, I would like to say that I am only doing this new topic because I am overwhelmed with Loverslab. If there are already topics that answer my questions, please post the links here.

Basically, I have the problem that there is no separate area for AE either at loverslab or at nexusmods. Some mods have two versions for SE and AE, but many mods have not had any update since AE came out. I don't know why there are no separate areas for AE on either side. Of course many say it's not a separate game but just an upgrade of the SE. But as far as modding is concerned, it should be seen as an different game, otherwise all SE mods would work perfectly.
I've played the SE for thousands of hours and have now made a conscious decision to go with the AE and I don't regret the upgrade. I can only recommend it. This is the first time that I play skyrim completely without mods and I really enjoy it. That you have to eat now and can freeze to death and get tired and that also has an impact on your own performance and effects.
That you can camp and no longer fast travel in survival mode. That you can fish and run your own farm.
I think the Anniversary Edition is great and it's also fun completely without mods and for the first time I play Skyrim without crashes and performance problems.

So if you already have experience with AE and can tell me which mods work and which don't, it would help me a lot. I would otherwise like to talk about tips and tricks for AE.

To all AE haters. I also thought for a long time and doubted whether I should update from the SE. But I made a conscious decision to do so, even if many mods features may no longer be possible because I've played through the SE with mods often enough. Even if I might have to play without any mods now, I enjoy the AE. I think the new features are great and the graphics too.
However, once I've played the game for a while, I might like to add some cool mods back into it. So thank you in advance for any tips and help.

Okay. The entire reason that SE mods do not work in AE is because they updated from an old compiler to a less old compiler. This primarily affects .dll files. If you look at the mod contents, and see that there is a .dll, and it hasn't been updated since 11/11/21, then it probably will not work. I've seen some reports of people trying to create ways for old .dlls to work, but I've not tried any myself.

Most mods don't use .dlls, and so are unaffected.

I will caution that things are a bit more difficult on LL than on Nexus. This is largely caused by LL being largely LE based, with conversions to SE frequently ad hoc and of varying quality. This has a number of issues that were never truly solved in converting to a 64bit game, much less dealing with a second shift to a newer compiler. Read carefully, and remember that some creators are adamantly opposed to changing with the times.

maybe I'll continue to play the AE without mods, which is still a lot of fun for me, and I'll mod my LE, so all mods are guaranteed to work

I was upgraded to the free AE update last weekend and while it's been a lot of restart and testing, I'm finding with the few that put out an AE update I found from the tracking link above that most LL mods I use seem to still work in AE.  Granted I don't use any DD mods simply due to the DD animations with the main mod put me way over the limit, so I can't comment on them but the others I've been testing I've commented on letting the mod author know my findings.

So, my advice is maybe a week of testing mods to find what does and doesn't work would be worth it for you so you don't have to deal with oh yeah this is the LE version it doesn't have that.

You can use all non-SKSE SE mods, most non-SKSE LE mods, and some SKSE old SE mods with AE. And most of the important SKSE SE mods have been updated for AE too.

If you use MO2, there is a filter on the left side "Contains Script Extender Plugin" check that and only mods with dll files will show.  Then you can go down that list for updates.

I've got 55 mods that I've been going down the list and updating the last few days.  If I can update all my must-haves then I'll go ahead and update to AE.

The spreadsheet has a small flaw in methodology. It appears to only check for same name updates. As far as AE is concerned, AddItemMenu is dead, since it is not getting updated, but AddItemMenu - NG provides a replacement .dll that works with AE. Also, I would give up on anything that was not compatible with 1.5.97. If they hadn't updated it in the last two+ years, it is almost certainly abandoned.

Ok, sorry this reply took a while.  I had a link that should have been in my history, but it was cleared out for some reason, so I had to go hunting for them.

since i have all skyrim versions, the original skyrim on DVD, the legendary and the anniversary edition, i have now decided to continue playing the AE without mods, because i really enjoy it and modding the legendary edition, also because I switched very quickly from LE to SE because of the many CTDs and there are many old mods for LE that were never translated for SE
