Which version of Skyrim is best for mods like More Nasty Critters?

Hello! I've been missing this mod and Skyrim in general so I thought I'd get back into it but I wanted to ask this before I being.

 

Which version should I use? Is there any meaningful difference when it comes to performance or the mod itself? Last time around I was using LE and had some issues here and there but overall it was fine.

it's a mixed bag:

the SL scripts run slow in SE so using the mcm to register things can be a bitch.

SE has no limit on how much ram you can use, LE on the other hand needs mods to offload things onto the gpu to prevent it from hitting 3.8g & crashing.

SE is much more sensitive to bad meshes.

 

also there is the SE V1.5.97 vs SE/AE V1.6.353 shit show.
