SaradaUchiha Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 I've looked all over and people seemed to have figured it out but some have my problem aswell. Timestamp: 6:56 Done all the steps to this video. This one seems to be the most recent tutorial for Skyrim AE. Still get CTD as I choose a hairstyle. I've seen people say it works and others say the mod needs to be updated. I want to know, is it broken? Yes or no? Any help at all will be appreciated.
nilead Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Its perfectly functional for LE/SE. For AE - who knows? Probably the author. From his suppord thread: On the Anniversary Edition: Make sure you have up-to-date versions of the following to prevent crashes and other issues: - SKSE64 for AE - RaceMenu - Faster HDT-SMP (do not use the "regular" HDT SMP mod for AE). Recommended versions: 1.39, 1.41 or later. - SSE Engine Fixes is always recommended as well In my recent tests there haven't been any issues with the latest versions of everything. If you are having issues with crashes, please report any details here or on the Faster HDT-SMP mod page or Discord: 1. Version numbers for Skyrim, SKSE64, RaceMenu and Faster HDT-SMP. 2. Use the game without physics hair and tell us if body physics works. 3. Then try using a wig and tell us if wig physics works. 4. Also, in Faster HDT-SMP, which mode did you use (SSE|AVX|AVX2|AVX512|CUDA)? (If you used CUDA, don't for now.) 5. What CPU do you have? You can get CPU information from Windows. There is a good chance that he knows what hes talking about.

There is a good chance that he knows what hes talking about. I have everything up to date. I didn't download any mods other than the basic ones first. Even still I know I'm messing something up. I used body slide to make absolutely sure they were built correctly. (Again still even that could be the problem I just can't tell) 1. SKYRIM SE v1.6.353 2. SKSE v2.1.5 3. RaceMenu v0-4-19-11 4. Faster HDT-SMP 1.44 5. Engine Fixes 6.0.2 Currently using body physics(works perfectly) waiting for a time to be patient enough to figure out KS Hairdos HDT-SMP.(Reason I asked for help) I have tried both wigs and hairstyles, batch builded with body slide. Examples of what it looks like after fresh saves/bodyslide/fnis below. Nvidia GTX 980ti (CUDA) I512600k (AVX512)

Its practicly replaced vanilla skeleton, to a point where almost everything is based on it. That stretching downwards that is on your screenshot usually is a result of a bone being affected by SMP and having vertices painted to them, but lacking proper constraints. KS hairdos is a massively popular mod, so if issue was with mesh itself/xml's - it would be fixed long time ago. Wich kinda leaves PC skeleton as a suspect. Beyond that - i unfortunately have no ideas.
yorpers Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Instruction Set ExtensionsIntel® SSE4.1, Intel® SSE4.2, Intel® AVX2 I don't know for sure if your processor supports avx 512. Might want to try avx2, I don't know if that is your problem.
