Ark of Truth Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Any one know any good tutorials which cover the following for Skyrim? Scripting Armor making - We are talking designing, building and import new armors into Skyrim here. I pretty much want to move to Skyrim modding but I need a basic tutorial to start with and can move up. Kinda like a "Skyrim modding for dummies" tutorial. Thank you in advance
Zadil Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 What exactly to suggest depends a bit on your present skill level - not just relating to Skyrim modding, but topics like 3d modeling or writing code in general, as well as what applications you have access to (most armor creation tutorials focus on either Blender or 3ds Max for mesh creation). Most of the following learning resources assume at least some knowledge of the relevant tools:The Creation Kit wiki is a good source of modding wisdom about Skyrim and the Creation Kit. It also has an extensive scripting section.officerbeardontcare has some good video tutorias on his channel about importing equipment into Skyrim, so does LeckerHamster.Canderes's videos are quite helpful, too. Although his stuff focuses mostly on animation, his fifth tutorial covers the creation of clothing and adjusting it to the player body. And don't forget to check out Nightasy's armor tutorials as well.If video tutorials are not your thing, then I'd suggest the Nexus wiki and TESAlliance articles about armor creation. Those should keep you busy for a while. I'm sure you can find other helpful tutorials out there, but these are the ones that helped me getting started with creating custom gear and collectively they cover pretty much every aspect of the process.
Sapro Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Through trial and error, you can achieve significant results - most importantly, do not be afraid to experiment. Lessons and books are good, at least not when the arm is packed full.
Baconsama Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Do those tutorials also teach how to make weapons and effects?
