assassin394 Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I use CBBE and there is a wrist seam/gap in both first person and third person. Although its more visible in 1st person. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks  Â
Gameplayer Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 (edited) Well this is a process,  There are a few things it could be,  In this case it may in fact be that the outfit itself is the problem, Does the issue also appear when naked?  Also I have noticed this sort of issue happens more when using mismatched body textures, an example of that would be if you have one mod for your body texture and another for your hands. This can also come up with heads as well.  Finally at some point and knowing from personal experience after you have ruled out outfits, textures, etc...Ultimately there will be some amount of viewable seem at better graphics settings with CBBE and as I recall the CBBE with 7base preset was quite visable at high settings in 1080p with the right lighting could always see the neck seam.  I switched over to Atomic Beauty for well that reason amoung others, CBBE had at a certain point just visable seam and AB did a better job of not being as visable. I dont know about FG....I think wonder body did alright there too.  Anyway, try to make sure its not the textures you are using, then well it might just be that outfit did not do a good job, after that though CBBE did have seams that were more noticable than other bodies.  EDIT, Just want to push the point home that...All the bodies have seams, seams will show up with certain lighting much easier than in others, certain graphics options make them more noticable, going up a notch in resolution say 1080p->1440p stuff like that. CBBE was quite noticable for me so I switched bodies. Edited June 27, 2022 by Gameplayer 1

The seam in 3rd person is barely visible when naked but the seam in 1st person mode is always there regardless of the outfit. And it look like a mesh gap rather than texture mismatch because you can see through the gap. I don't think I have any mod that change first person mesh and there is no option to build 1st person hand mesh in bodyslide so I'm out of ideas?   Edited June 28, 2022 by assassin394
Gameplayer Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Hmm,  Could be the following,  1stpersonFemaleArms 1stpersonfemalehands  I'm not sure if CBBE packs its own or if it uses the default games hands and arms for first person.  Since its arms and hands, might be worth looking to see if you downloaded/installed a mod that changes the arms/hands, there were a lot of them for Skyrim and I think I saw one for Fo4 but I never bothered checking that one out.  Also it might be worth having a look over at CBBE main download pages to see if this has come up before...Maybe there are already downloads to fix up the issue if its a problem for CBBE itself.  Since its arm's and hands well it could turn out that its just a quirk of that body type but narrow it down first. Not anything we can do about it if it turns out that its just default CBBE, tools are not easy and well it would mean a lot of time to spend fixing something when a lot of people move on to other bodies. 1

Come to think of it. Maybe its because I'm using a mod that removed the pipboy? ( Tactical tablet). Usually the left wrist covered by the pipboy so you can't see the gap. I don't have any weapons that expose the right hand wrist in 1st person so I can't check if there is a gap in the right hand. 1

Ah I use tactical tablet too cool mod.  It may be that it just never gets noticed because of what you just found. Its really likely that when CBBE was released well it just never got noticed until several mods were released to remove things such as the pipboy....I am certain that the issue is not there in new...."newer" body mods. 1
SolidSupreme Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 This issue is still alive and well in 2024.
BDNelson Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 I use CBBE, CBBE 3BBB, 8K Skin Textures, High Ploy Heads and the seam fixes for it. I still have seam issues on all the ladies in my game. I can't completely remove 'em no matter which mods I have installed. Here's a pic of my girl Blaze and Ivy to give you an idea of what I'm seeing. They're almost gone, but not completely.
South8028 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Probably just textures + overlapping meshes. I have a custom body. I encountered a problem that the 3ds and OS coordinate grids do not match. When exporting nif from 3 ds there is always an xyz offset. This displacement is very small and the effect on clothing is not noticeable, but the vertices of the neck do not match perfectly. The only solution is to overlap the seams a little. The body seam meshes are not vertex to vertex, but are an overlay on the head seam. This seam is only visible up close. I didn't find any other ways. 😔
nmagod Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 Your neck seam isn't nearly as visible as mine is, and it really looks like either eyeliner or lipstick color is applied on the portion that's supposed to be "hidden" by the body mesh (it's easier to tell in the second screenshot that it's fucking BRIGHT GREEN at the seam)  but y'all did give me the answer about why it's actually happening, thanks  Â
