[REQUEST] Growlfs Body Resizing Mod permanence

Hello, I use Growlfs Body Resizing Mod for my character so that I could edit my body to my preference, while having the added benefit of having a unique body compared to the NPC's around me, without having to convert clothes and armors for my new body. This mod has been a godsend for me, but there is one large gripe I have with it. Two actually.

First, the mod resets every time I go into first person. This means if I go into first person, then out again, my character's body will reset to the default body. Which means I have to use the item provided to change my body again. This is very annoying when I need to constantly go into first person to do certain things.

Secondly, the mod resets every time I reload the game. Every time I start the game up again, I have to use the item to reconfigure my body once again.

These may seem like fairly minor gripes, but it's extremely annoying to have to constantly be re configuring my body. If someone could figure out how to make the changes you make in the game to be "permanent", I would very much appreciate that. I've tried my own hand at it, by looking at the scripts Growlf has made in the mod, but frankly I don't understand what's going on, or even how to begin to implement what I'd like to do....

Thank you.

These gripes and many others like it are why this particular Growlf plugin was never really well liked.  The annoyances and incompatibilities outweighed the benefits for most folks.  Sadly I can't offer anything in the way of help as scripting is my weakest area.  If no one steps up to help you here, then you might have to pop back over to the nexus and take your chances there.  Folks that are good at scripts are perhaps even more rare than animators.  :(

To be perfectly honest, this shouldn't be overly difficult; set the variables up in a quest\activator\function, and run it each time the player leaves first person or loads for the first time.

Use GetGameLoaded and a check for first person (forgot the exact syntax).

Unfortunately, I can't access my computer for at least two days, so I can't help you anymore than this.

It seems that I am unable to access the Nexus at all (the page won't load or 502 ("Bad Gateway")).

Could you send me the esp?

-Edit- Thanks, got the esp. I'll see what I can do about it when I get home.

-Edit #2- Try this esp, tell me if it works (I didn't test it).

Note that you will have to re-set your character's body once before it actually kicks in (as in, it's not retroactive). Once you set it, it should work on new games.

Note #2: the price of this edit is another active quest with a script attached, as I didn't really want to touch the original ones more than I had to. This is *not* the way I would have gone about things, if I was the one originally making the mod, but I suppose it doesn't really matter.

Note #3: If this doesn't work, please make sure you get the debug message ("Body resizing initialized.").

-Edit #3- esp removed, refer to the post below.

First of all, thank you very much! Secondly... it doesn't quite work. Everything is fine, until I use the item to change my body. After changing something, I get an error message coming up with a prompt to press OK. After pressing that, my body has changed as it should. I went into first person just to try, and then left. The error prompt came up again, and this time after hitting OK, it would continuously come up again every time I would hit the OK button.

I don't see any debug message saying "Body resizing initialized".

Could you please provide a little bit more info? What error message do you get?

Also, the "Body resizing initialized" should be printed to your console when you first start\load a game.

-Edit- Try this esp, see if it works.

-Edit #2- esp removed, check my next post.

Sorry I'm not being descriptive enough.

The error prompt reads: "ERROR !"

That's it.

Now, with the new esp. The "Body resizing initalized" did start on my first load. However, when using the item I still get the error prompt. The body change still works though.

Trying to switch to first person and back displays the error prompt again, this time; however, it does not loop and mearly displays once. However, the body is returned to the original unmodified one.

I manually changed the body again, once again clicking Done on the error prompt, then saved the game. I quit to the desktop and relaunched the game, and this time upon loading, the "Body resizing initalized" does not appear in the console, and the same error prompt once again displays as soon as I get into the game. Testing the body change results in the same experience as just described above, before the save. However this time changing the body does not result in an error, but going into and out of first person does.

Here is a screenshot of the error prompt:

Alright, I think I know what's wrong. It's one little missing line I forgot to add yesterday (as well as before).

It's a stupid error made just because I was tired (that'll teach me not to mess with scripts late at night).

I'll make the edit when I get home. Expect an edit to this post today.

-Edit- Esp is up. Try it and tell me if it works.
