I have replaced the original vanilla missives mod with this mod version 2.1 here on an existing save game. However now the mod's MCM is almost empty (see screenshot in spoiler section). In the original missives mod, it looked fine with all the parameters available.

 

What could be the problem? I removed the original vanilla missives mod with ReSaver and cleaned the save game before installing missives 2.1 in MO2. MCM Helper is installed.

Could someone please re-upload version 2.03?, since 2.05 and 2.1 crash the game when starting.
At 2.1 I opened it with SSEEdit and it shows 733 lstring ID errors, that is possibly the reason why it doesn't want to open or because I don't use MCM helper.

It seems that some users' hands do not grow from their normal place

I already found the problem or the solution, your mod from version 2.05 onwards only works with the English or Russian version of Skyrim, since I am Spanish it doesn't work for me, that's why I had the problem with the strings (SSEEdit).
I installed the English version of Skyrim and the game opens without problems.

edited: Another option is to decompress missives.bsa (CAO), go to the strings folder, and add (missives_spanish.dlstrings, missives_spanish.ilstrings and missives_spanish.strings) and compress it again with Cathedral Assets Optimizer (CAO).

I have solved it: the MCM Helper 1.5.0 file description and the available options in the MCM Helper FOMOD installer led me to believe that 1.5.0 is also compatible with Skyrim SE 1.5.97. Seems that is not the case (SkyUI and Missives MCM amongst others turned up empty with 1.5.0 installed).

MCM Helper SE 1.5.97 BACKPORT 1.4.0 is obviously the way to go for Skyrim SE 1.5.97.

Have a virus warning during download of the new file. Google Chrome caught, and stopped it. Really shouldn't be tripping based on a .Zip file, so I'm not inclined to believe it's a false positive. 

 

PS. Moderator checked out the file and determined it was a false positive.

Had a quick look through xEdit with all associated patches for Original Missives and I didn't see any conflicts or problems.

So technically there shouldn't be any issue with running this mod and a number of patches from Nexus.

Not the either mods author so take with a pinch of salt.

Any game which no is russian o english dont will work.

 

My game is on spanish and cant click on board.

 

Thank you to DarkDamocles i can make it work, for that you must make this:

 

With Cathedral Assets Optimizer (CAO), descomprime the bsa.

 

Rename the follow files to your game language, in my case spanish.

 

In String folder:

 

missives_spanish.dlstrings (Before was missives_english.dlstrings)

 

missives_spanish.ilstrings

 

missives_spanish.strings

 

In translations folder.}

 

missives_spanish 


Optional: Compress again, i dont compress.

 

Now i can see the missives, is on english but is better of nothing even on my game in spanish.

 

Must work for any language mainwhile change enghish to game language.

 

My english is limite and only post for help to someone can troubles for use like me.

 

Again thank to DarkDamocles who give the guide for make it work.

The claim that this doesn't change anything other than being a replacer for the board isn't true, i have the head hunter/obis addon  and when NOT using this i have access to those bounties but when using this i don't ever see a single one of the headhunter/obis bounties meaning there is a change more than cosmetic going on ... i am unfortunately not that good at SSEdit so i cannot figure it out but 1+1 is not = 25  , meaning when i don't use this mod as a board replacer everything works as intended btu when i do use it i don't have access since this is the only difference then it has to be something linked to this, I saw a while back someone asking so just a texture replacer .... is it possible for someone to do that I don't know what would be needed for such a thing but it would be great.

Hello

 

Having a slight issue, what mod do I need to download to change the boards. I tried every mod that on the download and I can't get the boards to change to those adult pictures.

 

I have Missives 2.03 sse downloaded.

Hi, I think you dont need to install the Original Missives 2.03 SSE from Nexus. Just install this mod will be done. Its included the whole Missives.

They all seem to be indicating that the same record is missing: QUST \ Aliases \ Alias \ Create Reference to Object \ ALCO - Object -> [0B008ED5] <Error: Could not be resolved>

 

I made a delta patch of the original (2.03) Missives against your plugin, and indeed you did not include the medium ore gathering book in your plugin, or the respective quests. Was there any reason for that? Would it be ok to just copy the excluded records back into the plugin, generating an new seq file, etc?

 

I hate to sound entitled but this seems like something that would be easier to fix on the dev's end. Anyways, thanks for the mod!

That's consistent with what I found. There are elements missing from the original Missives in this mod. It's a drag, because I like these tweaks and additions, but it makes patches made for the original potentially broken.

What can I say, sufferer, I don't care about your problems. The mod works fine in my game, and everything is fine for many thousands of people who downloaded it, but you just pass by.

Did I insult you or something? Just indicated very clearly that your replacer has issues, identified the cause of the problem and asked you politely for an informed opinion on a possible fix, while clearly stating that I didn't ask or expect you to fix it for me. What can I say, I don't care about your problems, either. Fixed it on my end.
