Are devices supposed to be removed during animations?

I can't find anywhere that has a setting for removing devices, but they are always removed and (sometimes) readded for sex animations.  This has the unfortunate side effect of really screwing up whatever DD uses to determine what devices are equipped.  Some effects remain but item is not equipped (clicking it in inventory acts like it was never equipped).   Is this a known issue?  Is there a workaround?  Am I just doing something horribly wrong?

Place "DeviousDevices_protectedEquipmentData.xml" in data/AAF

I am using DD RC8 but I'm pretty sure the form ids for the keywords are the same. Check in FO4Edit if you are using an older version of DD and want to make sure.

Note that some mods have helper functions that perform it's own undressing of the player and NPCs. Those will have to be disabled.

That patch really needs to not be hidden halfway through the thread.   I found it a couple hours after I posted this while searching for something completely different.  Happy accident. Certainly fixed my issue.  I had only installed the DD 2.0 from the actual file link.  Unless it is mentioned in the desc and I somehow missed it.

But either way, thanks.  I already found the fix, but if I hadn't, telling me RC8 even existed would have put me on the right path. ?

It's not. I had only found out about it yesterday while looking at the last page of DCW thread where someone posted a link back to a post from mid 2021. And now I can't really install it since I already have DD2.0 with several 3rd party patches and I'm in the middle of the game. And while I probably could just replace it, RC8 advises a clean save and I can't really do it because of dependencies that would brick my save file.

Really wish the update was with the main file somewhere or at least was mentioned.
