Bluegunk Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I have the goodies, but how do I set up Skyrim SE to run DLDSR without resetting my entire Desktop? I use a native 1440x3440 21:9 HDR screen. If I choose 4587x1920 1.78x DL, and apply those screen specs into SkyrimPref.ini, I just get a bigger Skyrim screen. (I'm used to plain DSR which, of course, does not do this.) A quick 1-2-3 step guide for morons would be enormously helpful. Thanks!
Inga Rasen Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Don't apply it in skyrim's ini It should work just by setting it in global settings of nvidia. Uncheck the bottom one's and only pick from DLDSR. Might also want to check cru, custom resolution utility.
Bluegunk Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 Just now, Inga Rasen said: Don't apply it in skyrim's ini It should work just by setting it in global settings of nvidia. I have looked into it further, and it may not be suitable for me.

Why you say it won't be suitable for you? DLDSR should give better performance than DSR.
Bluegunk Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 With DSR it is upscaling, I can enable DSR, and select some resolutions. I can choose one of those resolutions and apply it to SkyrimPrefs.ini. So long as the correct window parameters are set in the INI file the game will scale up. DLDSR downscales. Making the choice in Nvidia and applying the screen size to the SkyrimPrefs ini just ends up with a large screen. But it does work if I choose the whole desk top.

Dldsr and dsr can both upscale resolution. Dsr x4 equals dldsr x2.5 I think you might have to check some video's how to set it up correctly. There are quite a few on youtube with skyrim gameplay+dldsr Edit: https://youtu.be/bqJswuys974 Has computer voice, but should explain it.
Bluegunk Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 I'll take a look. I confess I have used DSR successfully but am struggling with this new one. Very many thanks for your help! ?
