Offhand invisible

So here's the thing, a custom race and offhand weapons and torches are invisible. With weapons you hear the sounds and it does damage just can't see the weapon and torches give the animation of being held in both first and third person but can't see the torch and it sheds no light. Any ways to fix this without rebuilding the race from scratch? The thing I find oddest is shields work fine.

I know its bad form to bump your own posts....buts its been a week with 0 views, so thought it might be okay. Still havent found a fix so if anyone has ideas I would appreciate some assistance..
