Requesting help with 3DS Max Port/Invisible armor in-game.

Hi guys, I recently just started making my own mods with my first being a conversion from Vindictus. However, currently I seem to be having trouble getting the armor to show in-game.

I tested the armor by replacing the Medusa armor .0 and .1 nif (faster than making a replacer). When I equip the armor in-game it just shows my character with a giant mass of unrendered skin texture with the armor not showing at all.

Here is the armor in Nifskope, I was wondering if there is anything wrong here or if anyone who may have been through the same can lend a hand.

Thanks.

Did you simply replaced the armor without editing anything in nifskope at all?

Yes.

What am I supposed to edit?

Some causes for invisible armor problem:

- wrong biped objects <-- more likely. Look for BSDismemberSkinInstance / partitions. Compare them with the medusa nif file

- missing nif file / wrong name file

- "has vertex color" property setted to no (not always, it depends)

Thanks, um, I will probably tackle that later, but first I want to be sure of what I'm doing.

I had this .max file that was extracted from the Vindictus game files. I then imported it to max and then exported it as a .nif to work with. Why is it that this armor is so small yet the player body is so gigantic over it? Should I actually try scaling this to fit? I've tried it many times, but it didn't exactly work out too well.

And for the arms of the armor, how do I get those to fit the arms of the body? The arms on the armor stretch out so far that the arms of the body don't fit, if I try to rotate/scale it basically messes the armor up.

Actually got that previous armor working (yay).

Totally a wacko job with this though lol.
