Reefor Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I came across an old NPC replacer that I heard about but didn't think was around anymore. When I installed it I think I got what I've heard people call an "infinite face stretch" bug. Kind of hard to tell because it took up the whole screen anytime I looked at a face of an NPC that had been replaced. They didn't have to be close either, if there was one far away but the game still considered visible their face would light up the sky. lol I'm just a noob but I heard about people backporting, and I guess the opposite would be forwardporting. And I heard people say how easy it was, so for the heck of it I unzipped it, ran SSE Nif Optimizer on the whole folder, then zipped it up and reinstalled. My game wouldn't even launch at that point so I just uninstalled and deleted it. Everything's fine now but I still want to try to learn from it, I hate being such a Noob. Does anyone think that my assumption, that it was an old LE version, or maybe even older if that's possible? Or is that just silly?

You get like, a breast stretching across the screen because of HDT doing something weird. Don't know why the face would stretch unless it had HDT physics. I think it is HDT-SMP that cause that problem. I don't know what this issue is but I wouldn't worry cause it's not a common problem whatever it is. I guess you should be learning about Bodyslide, HDT, different bodies and types of physics for bounce. As well as doing conversions. If you want to shake off your noob status.
Reefor Posted April 20, 2022 Author Posted April 20, 2022 Thanks for your help Rohzima. I still have a lot to learn. Most of what I learned is from figuring out and fixing problems. In that way I do already have some experience with SMP & CBPC. I had to get rid of COCO when I realized that the weird physics (VJ opening & closing so fast it looked like a pair of hands clapping) were being caused by a conflict between COCO's SMP/CBPC and either Faster HDT-SMP or CBPC - Physics with Collision. Can't remember which now...... I think it was CBPC - Physics with Collision. But I got rid of COCO and that fixed it. I also had a stretching problem with the hair with physics at first and found out that the problem originated by a program overwriting one of my skeletons. I moved XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended to the bottom of the load order and that fixed the problems. And I went into the txt files and adjusted the tummy bulge and VJ opening settings. There were other learning moments but I won't bore you with the list. But like I said I have a lot to learn and I have no experience with HDT as far as I can tell. I don't have any other problems outside of that one program. So am I right in understanding that if the older program predated HDT & didn't have it, then trying to run it in a system that includes HDT is what's causing the infinite stretch bug?
