Shutting off updates, freezing my mod list.

I'm thinking about shutting off Game updates and freezing my mod list. ?

EA's going a different direction than I expected; I really don't care for weddings and there already were weddings in the game but I bought the pack it just to keep up with mods. I was hoping for something like "Into the Future", fixing aliens or a university more like it was done in Sims 3. Not going to happen. EA is going into a different direction.

And I'm not seeing too much that interest me in the way of mods coming down the road. Just updates that fix what EA breaks and EA breaks things for almost no reason. The two big mods are Wicked Whims and Kinky... I don't understand the whole succumbus feature but I like the Farm/sex slave and the prostitution thing is a fun feature. It's kinda fun to join households and sell them all into slavery on the foreign market (where they become Cowplant food) WW? It plays the animations. The strip joint was fun for a few games but it gets to be a grind like real work.   Basemental? Never use it, doesn't look related to KW but it's a requirement. Might play if it had "beer glasses" and made unattractive sims look more attractive but I didn't see that feature ever becoming a thing cuz it would require access to the guts of WW attraction system. Drugs? Not my game.

And I have a lot of non-sex mods that I like that aren't really supported anymore that EA is bound to break sooner or later... 

 

Is this a stupid thing to do? Cuz I don't see a reason to update anymore. Everyone seems to be out of fresh ideas.

Dang it. Another update. I have updates shut off but it doesn't give an option to play the game, just update. Anyway to start the game without having to shut off my internet access?

Run Origin in offline mode, run the game and then put orign online (if you want gallery access or keep it offline if you don't care).

As @Crazy Doll said, you don't even lose out on the gallery, if that matters. It's not something that I care about at all, and downloading sims off of LL or other websites still works.

 

I've been playing offline for quite a while, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on much; I have no intention of buying any new packs, and the new updates seem to only add content that gets unlocked by buying EA's latest bullshit £10.00 'now you can use a hoover' packs. I've never felt that I'm missing out and iirc the 'Sims Delivery' still works.
