Problem with Underwear suddenly showing up on NPCs and Character

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am pretty new to skyrim modding, and i just had a bit of issues with Skyrim Special Adition + the Anniversary Edition, i was playing then i pressed one of the binds, by sheer accident this somehow made every single NPC put on underwear, i don't really mind if this was just when walking around and stuff, but it doesn't even come off during OStim scenes, if i could get some assistance with this i would greatly appreciate it. Modlist would be below image, this was 100% my fault, but i just can't find a way to reverse this, i've already reinstalled it and pressed the exact same buttons i pressed, atleast to my recollection.

I don't know if it's a clothing item, since when i rebuilt the Bodyslide files, excempt from a few, these weren't on, up until i checked all of the bodies and these popped up again.

Assuming you mean one of the key binds. Look at the key bind and see what it is set to. Have you tried hitting the key again? Do your NPCs have underwear normally? I ask because that does not look like vanilla underwear.

Unrelated note: Does JK's not have an all-in-one type thing instead of all those individual esps? Also, (may be wrong here) you appear to have patches installed but not the mods which they patch.

I did press it, to be completely honest, i cheatied via console, i typed in player.additem 000000f 2000, and i pressed all those again, nothing really changed but 3BBB Selecting player and a small equip sound.

NPCs did not wear underwear regular, i believe it's from BHUNP, or one of those mods, which is why i thought it was something to do with nevernude, but it's just so odd it happened mid-game.

Responding to unrelated; yeah, haha, my bad, i just got someone in disc to shoot me over their mods and i guess that's how they have em, and the patches? i honestly don't know which, if you could give me pointers so i could remove clutter that'd be great.

Thanks for the help !!

I don't know what the item is but you appear to have ordered 2000 of them.

That is probably the worst way to go about modding Skyrim or any other game. Your best bet would be to ask the person you got the mods from - they may at least recognise the underwear.

Err, no. I'm not going to trawl through your plug-ins. I'll give you one: do you have Open Cities installed?

Yeah, as Gukahn said, it's septims, funnily enough, the game reacts to my mod binds even when paused or in a different menu than the game world, i don't know if this is normal behavior for mods.

Yeah haha, i know, i've done very little modding recently with other stuff like arma (just got a new pc, so i've been tinkering with games), he just threw me one of those vortex nexus or whatever its actually called collection thingies, should i dm the author or something?

fwiw, if underwear is "suddenly" appearing on NPCs, I'd guess that you're using nude suits, rather than having NPCs who natively have "naked" bodies. Consider using Bodylside to apply nude bodies to your NPCs instead of nevernude.

A nude body does not magically become nevernude in an "instant"

Oh alright, how do i do this in bodyslide? i already have bodyslide and i built morphs and all that stuff, are there different types of nude suits? Or how do they work? People have different breast sizes and stuff so i'm just curious, again, so sorry if i'm asking very stupid stuff, i'm very new to modding PC games and stuff.

You should read the guides Grey Cloud provided, they will answer most of your questions in an instant.

Skyrim doesn't have nude suits. We are way past that, we have body replacers, once cloths and ouftis are removed, that what you see is only the body without anything attached to it other then maybe invisible items from mods like DD.

Collections are.. Utterly useless for people who don't know how to put mods in their game without them. Just downloading a collection from someone who thinks they know it all is not a good idea, most of the time they just throw some stuff together, tweak mods and make the entire list incompatible with further added mods. That and it causes what you now experience, encountering a simple problem without knowing where it comes from.

I would yeet your entire modlist and start from scratch, that way you know exactly what you put into your game and learn to troubleshoot. Will take some time but is far better then using collections. (i am a little biast about them i know that but i stay behind my point. Only use them when you have at least modded this game successfully once.. And don't use something without knowing whats in there.)

I will, yeah reading would've def made everything easier.

Yeah, i actually agree, only reason i listened to my friend giving me a collection is because well, i'm new, so i was kind of nervous i would break something, yknow with bethesda releasing AE, i wasn't sure what would work and what will, and to be honest, you are right, these collection people they aren't the best...
This one had about 3 or 2 different Sex mods, i don't even use them i only use OStim, and plus you saw all the clutter with the JK stuff.
I'm 100% gonna follow your advice in making my own modlist and starting from scratch, i wasn't sure if people liked or disliked collections, but it's good to know my doubts weren't unfounded.
Thanks again fellas, i really appreciate all the answers, but i do think starting from scratch is the best option given the state of the clutter O_o

You will break things, thats part of the progress and you will get shiny syndrom really soon, trust me on that. Once you finished your list you still will go mod hunt. My modlist is old as fuck, probably should only update mods instead of adding new ones but i still do. But i know what to avoid if i wanna keep the save xD

The worst thing that can happen is that you need to start a new game after breaking a save or that you need to reinstall your game, which is not a death sentence as i just recently myself witnessed. While using a mod manager, (vortex did, Mo2 will probably to the same.) my mods where still there. Only thing i did was downgrading to SE again so my game can work with everything. I don't know  in what dimension OStim works with AE but if it does perform better or has more content that doesn't work with AE yet, I would say.. Do the same after you got rid of your mods, use this here:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57618

And kill the abomination called AE. I got rid of anything AE related. But if you wanna stay AE, be sure to be aware of version numbers. There are mods that really need to be updated for AE and there are mods that don't. Sexlab is an example for the former, npc replacer work regardless of your game version. Just read a bit into the matter and decide for yourself and.. Be Patient and don't download too many mods at once.  Get yourself an alternate start mod for testing and add.. Maybe 10 mods and their requierments at a time to your game afterwards, see if they work. Many mods share Requierments so after the first 20 or so mods, you should get faster with testing and many mods like replacers don't really need to get tested, if you encounter a bug with them it's pretty easy to fix them with Load order changes or maybe looking if the author already has a fix for your problem posted. (or another modder. Favorte mods don't go long without fan additions and fixes.)

Tbh i just got AE, i did play through SE with very few mods on my old laptop, (Some pretty basic slight-overhaul and replacer things like Leanwolf's weapons and stuff.) i also agree that AE is more of a huge "meh" than anything, and i do prefer SE, but i wanna take a look at the content with some mods, if possible.
And yeah, i too am surprised OStim works with AE, i've actually had no problems with it, it's weird.
The one patcher with the Best of two worlds thing didn't work when i wanted to downgrade, a while back, but the one you linked me to is the one that 100% worked with me, it's actually the one i personally prefer.
I don't know if i get to keep CC content with that patcher, to be honest i used it once before and i didn't own the CC content, until i bought AE, (which admitedly was a waste of money)

And oh yes, i definetely have an addiction with adding mods to my modlist now that i have the power to do so.

Well it has a best of both.. But as i didn't want any CC content and only my SE back i can't say if it will work for you the way you want it to. Regardless, many mods are getting updated for AE and most of the ones who needed updates are DLL Mods (don't ask my what DLL mods are.. I barely keep in touch with AE updates and i didn't have the urge to look up the term.)

So if you already paid money for it.. Yeah i would keep AE myself then too. Just try to look up if mods that you add in the future are for the version number of your game, that's the only thing you really have to be concerned. 90% of all mods should be compatible without issue tho. It's Content that uses SKSE and Jcontainers (?) mostly that got hit bad with AE. (All tho i do think simply the updated version of skse should make many of these mods compatible with AE.)

fwiw, pretty much everyone goes through these "growing pains" when entering skyrim. last game I'd played prior (aside from GT5/6) was FFXI way back in 2006-8.

I had NO idea of what I was getting into.  Skyrim is very "rich" but it also takes quite a bit of work to get the most out of it, and work's jekyl/hyde transform is frustration, so expect some of that too.

As was suggested by Gukhan, read up. I could give your the short version or you could hunt for some of my longer treatments in various replies, but I think other's docs are probably more encompassing than mine, which are more limited in scsope...  so I'd go that route.

But, fwiw, the nutshell is, or MY nutshell is

  1. set the body type from Body/Outfit dropdown. This is where you'll select  nude vs never nude, using whichever body mods you've installed to support your game (CBBE, CBBE-3BA, UNP, UUNP, BHUNP, Himbo, etc)
  2. select a preset made for the body type you're using (an XML file continuing all the various slider definitions that can be used with the body)
that is, use CBBE presets for CBBE bodies, CBBE-3BA presets for CBBE-3BA bodies, BHUNP presets for BHUNP bodies, etc
  3. open the preview window
  4. make adjustments according to your personal preference using the sliders (changes are realtime in the preview window
  5. save this modified slider set as "my body nude"
  6. check the "build Morphs" checkbox (generates tri files needed for Racemenu in game)
  7. build the body
  8. repeat for the hands and feet (I generally don't adjust their limited sliders at all, with the exception of "feminine feet" for females).

The nutshell does not deal with minutial issues or troubleshooting (one common problem players have is when they install the game to a alternate folder from default, Bodyslide doesn't not produce expected results. it's a path issue, and there are beaucoup articles that deal with that. ... widenet search or maybe one of those docs previously cited by Gukahn). Nor does it deal with clothing armor fitting, using bodyslide for followers, Bodyslide for named characters, or the use of Outfit studio etc., which (IMO) are more "advanced" subjects, the last being one I don't even try to know anything about.

Haha yeah, i'm definetely keeping an eye on that, i'm currently checking each mod one by one, seeing if it works proper, or if it kills AE.
It's definetely the whole Collection thing, since i haven't had a single issue by doing it by myself.

Also, yeah, to be honest, it's mostly buyer's remorse as to why i'm playing with AE, it's because of suckers like me that bethesda keep pumping out stupid stuff, AND breaking mods, but i was just curious as to what's included in it.

Here's fingers crossed that they don't release another ""Update"".... Which they probably will do, and i'll have to try and check everything, 1.5 is a tempting downgrade....

Oh no yeah, def, i had some tiresome moments when dealing with the incompatibilities and broken stuff, until i realized that it's mostly my fault because i didn't read most of the mods...
I know my way around CBBE bodyslide (somewhat) not UNP, which was what the collection used,
...And on top of that, like some 12 other Bodies , which i have no idea how to deal with.
It's good to know the info from step 1, since i had no idea that was how it worked, i just kinda crossed my fingers when i was trying to tinker with bodyslide.

Tbh, i don't mind reinstalling everything and checking them one by one, or atleast slowly mod by mod, because well, this whole thing was my fault for not reading into basically the important stuff.

I'm geniunely grateful for all the advice i've been given, and i'm having zero issues as of right now, i mean, they might still come around but so far i'm doing great, and also i have way less clutter in terms of mods, because i didn't pick some stranger's big ole' collection

Na, Bethesda or Microsoft know how to advertise their bullshit, especially to people you played the game ages ago and feel nostalgic or get lured with shiny stuff. I don't even know whats in their AE Version and i don't wanna know cause, i fear most of it will fuck some mods up i have. I dare to say everything you got in CC, someone else did somewhere somehow on their own and it is probably somewhere in nexus or the other sites you get mods from.. Survival mod for example. (also many ideas they implemented i just guess existed long before they opened CC.) The biggest difference in CC mods and "amateur" Mods are, that the later gets worked on with more passion.

Set your Skyrim in Steam to only update when you launch the game and disable background downloads, you will start the game later only with SKSE so it will never update without you having a say in the matter. That's how most of us keep normal SE ^^

I am having the same issue with Bhunp too. I have no nevernude mods installed, nor do I have any nudesuits installed. It isn't on every npc, just some, but for some reason they have the same pink, lacy underwear.

Did you ever fix it?

fwiw, pretty much everyone goes through these "growing pains" when entering skyrim. last game I'd played prior (aside from GT5/6) was FFXI way back in 2006-8.

I did everything you said here, and the underwear still hasn't gone.

If it's not due to building the body with some sort of never nude body, and with your description above, that sounds like some sort of mod that automatically adds pinky lacey lingerie whenever a character is nude, although I have no idea which mod it would be.
