CGi Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 As the title says, i'm looking for a good smithing mod.in my first playthru i used Smithing Perks Overhaul, Complete Crafting Overhaul and Weapon and Armor Fixes. But due to the fact, that headbomb is no longer updating those mods, i switched to Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement, but it didn't feel as complete as the before mentioned mods from headbomb. On my search for more up-to-date smithing mods, i stumbled across Smithing Perks Overhauls - Remade and Updated and Weapon and Armor Fixes - Remade with Dawnguard and Dragonborn support, which are based on headbombs mods and made by kryptopyr. For smelting down items, i've chosen -JK- Crafting Breakdown -Junk Melting Smelting-, as it seems to be to most complete one. Before i now start playing with those mods and than realize, i better switch to mod XYZ and start playing from scratch again, i'm hoping for some feedback about those mods and maybe some suggestions for other smithing mods. i only checked the Nexus so far, so maybe someone knows of other smithing mods on other sites, i would miss out. Thanks in advance.
Creamlord666 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 The question is what do you want to achieve? JK's melting down mod is pretty good to get rid of junk and get ingots in exchange but I prefer "Lost Art of the Blacksmith" and "More Craftables" over perk overhaul (I use smithing only to max out my gear). Lost art of the Blacksmiths: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1020/? More Craftables: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/799/?
GlassDeviant Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 This may be a bit late, but perhaps it will help others in the future. You can use Ars metallica, Lost Art of the Blacksmith, the trumverate of Complete Crafting Overhaul + Smithing Perks Overhaul + Weapons and Armor Fixes (all the latest remade versions) AND JK Crafting Breakdown together, and the only problem you will have is cluttered crafting menus and a few redundancies (like 2 recipes for each arrow, one using just firewood and metal bars, the other requiring extra items like crafting feathers).
