Triratna Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Anyone ever experience this Technical error symptoms on the game? First, it began with a hiccups. I'm losing frame rates when entering cells or any dungeon interior, saves NPC houses. (it was fine outside the cells). Second, after a few moment like 15 minutes..The game control 'mouse & keyboard' cease to function. (As if Alt+tab was repeatedly hit). i didn't even touch the alt keys. The keyboard & mouse works fine alright outside the game program. I used Ctrl+alt+del to close the game and it's been like 5 times in a row.. and i'm worry. i wonder what went wrong, Any advise is welcome. Many thx inadvance
gregathit Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 When you ctrl+alt+del out of the game check your processes tab in the task manager to see what all is sucking your memory\cpu down (make sure you hit the show all processes from all users button at the bottom. Could be some damn update or something. Plus it would be informative to see how much oblivion is using.
Slammer64 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 You might have an overheating video card as well Triratna, but gregathit is most likely right, you probably have a background process running, like an anti-virus.
Uriel Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 ...process running, like an anti-virus. Or the virus. Btw, it's hard to tell the difference between them. They both suck resources, both hard to delete, both are hiding from everything and both re able to cause terrible synergy with other softwares. Second, after a few moment like 15 minutes..The game control 'mouse & keyboard' cease to function. Wait, alt-tabbing are not just disabling controls. The game completely hangs, nothing moves. You only can call the console with "~"(and that's VERY strange) but can't even write a command. Is it the same in your case? Or is your kb&mice being disabled while things continue to move in Oblivion? edit: can you provide infos on your hardware?

Triratna Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 LOL, It was a Low hard disk memory. After Cleaning up 30 Gigabytes o' junk. The oblivion began to load slowly but after it's done loading the game run smoothly without losing any frame/sec. Well. Now we all know a low hard disk spaces could shut down game control & kill video performance. Thanks guys, It's solved and i owe you all big time.
gregathit Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Windows requires a big chunk of room to manuvere and if it doesn't have it....well know you know! Another thing to do to improve speed it to regularly defrag your hard drives! .....besides porn demands and deserves its very own hard drive! LOL
Slammer64 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yeah, Windows is notorious for doing flaky things once the actual free disk space gets below a certain minimum. You might try using contig on your Oblivion directory too.
