yukitokuroya Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Was writing some times and came up with a few drone ideas. Disclaimer: All city and company names are based in my fictional universe. Any similarities and same names are purely coincidental. Like these: Kidnapping Drone Spoiler The DR70KD Kidnapping Drone is a drone designed and assembled by Rainport Technologies in Rainport, Buckinstone. It was designed in 2070, but was never released publicly. The drone moves on wheels, and can go up to 10 meters per second(36km/h), akin to the speed of the hospital division drones and speed goes down to 4 meters per second when carrying load. The drone's dimensions are six feet long by two feet wide and four feet tall. The loading bay is kind of like a chest that opens on the right side of the unit and is located on the base of the unit. It also has mechanical arms that can turn into prongs, when the unit needs to screw up wires or cables and can switch from claws to prongs on the fly, depending on what is needed of it. At the base of the unit, along with the loading bay, it has a door on the front, that only opens on certain occasions when needed. As said above, to remove load from the unit, it's necessary to use the right side door. The unit's front door opens when the unit uses its main method of capturing its prey, a mechanical vine that encircles the prey's legs. Once the vine is wrapped, the unit starts to pull the prey into the loading bay. When the prey is completely inside the bay, the front door closes and the prey is locked inside. Then, the second stage will start. With the prey inside the loading bay, the unit starts to wrap the prey in a plastic film. The film makes it so the prey cannot move or make sounds to call for help. This stage is called "Processing". The unit will go into standby when the processing stage ends. The unit will also lock the side door in the grabbing and processing stages and also when operated remotely. The unit will announce in its top display which stage it is in. It will go from standby, to grabbing, processing and back to standby and move to the operator/operating system if not in range. If the unit is remotely deployed, once the loading bay is full, the unit will return to base, as it cannot carry more. There is only one existing unit of this model, but no one knows where it is. Rainport Technologies announced that the unit is in a undisclosed storage facility and asked people to stop asking about it. Some rumors say that it has been sent to the abandoned Buckinstone Ridge Technologies laboratory. However, these rumors, have never been confirmed. Â Capturing Drone: Spoiler The DR70CD Capturing Drone is a drone designed and assembled by Rainport Technologies in Rainport, Buckinstone. It was designed in 2070, along with it's sister models 70SD and 70DD. It has all movements of its sister models, but moves at a much lower speed of 5 m/s. It also uses a kind of tank to hold the chosen capture measure in it, like a rope reel, tape dispenser, saran wrap dispenser and other measures. That's mainly why it's slower than the SD. The DR70CD's main task is to capture intruders invading a protected property. The drone stays recharging its battery and flies up from its pod when alerted by a Surveillance Drone. Once a intruder is spotted by a SD, the CD leaves its pod and goes to the SD's position. Let me tell you how it happens: Let's say the SD finds a nosy girl walking around a abandoned laboratory. The CD will go to the SD's position and see the girl itself, evaluating the target(takes less than two seconds). Once the evaluation is done, the CD will use the capture style that has been programmed in it. Like, let's take saran wrap as a example. The CD will wrap the subject in saran wrap completely, from the legs all the way to the shoulders. Finishing the wrap on the intruder's body, the drone will hold onto the subject and wrap their mouth up, to make the intruder unable to scream for help. The next step is to call a Detention Drone, but that I'll leave for the Detention Drone's description. It has several capture styles, like wrapped rope, where it will wrap the intruder in ropes; saran wrap, to wrap the subject completely; wrap the subject in tape; use a transparent slime, shoot a fishing net at the subject, etc. The transparent slime is a quite different measure, as, when it catches a intruder, it encloses the intruder's body and makes the limbs unable to move. Also, it melts down clothing objects the subject may be wearing. The drone has also another feature, it can also fire sleeping darts on the subject for a more silent takedown. This drone can only be purchased by citizens who own the Noble Citizen License. Â Detention Drone: Spoiler The DR70DD Detention Drone is a drone designed and assembled at Rainport Technologies in Rainport, Buckinstone. It was designed in 2070, along with its sister models, the 70SD and 70CD. The DD has all movements of its sister models, except that its normal flying speed is 10 meters per second and slows down to 4m/s when carrying a aprehended subject. The main task of a 70DD is to contain the subject and prevent it from escaping. For that task, the 70DD has mechanical arms, which move the subject when needed and, the main containment device can be: A medical bed, which has cuffs to hold the subject's arms and legs, the medical bed can also have straps to lock the body if mummification measures have been selected; A cubic metal cage, in which the subject is put inside and the door is locked; A round cylindrical tube, which can hold the subject still, mostly used in laboratory settings. The drone picks up the containment device and lifts it to where the subject is, then uses its arms to put the subject into/onto the containment device. Then, it flies back to the location the owner marked for depositing captured subjects and leaves the device there, going back to the recharging pod. 70DD requires interfacing with the Central Security System to know what to do and when to act. This drone requires the Noble Citizen License to be purchased from Rainport Technologies. Â Trapping Drone: Spoiler The DR70TD Trapping Drone is a drone designed and assembled by Rainport Technologies, in Rainport, Buckinstone. It was designed in 2070 and is still in production to this day. The main task of a TD is to stay on the floor and wait to be stepped on. The Trapping Drone, instead of flying, it has wheels and can get up to 15m/s in speed when not under load or 5m/s when under load. It's made by a surface of five feet long by five feet wide, with a contact pad in the center. When the contact pad is pressed, even so lightly, the countermeasure it has activates. As soon as someone steps on the drone, fishing net-like walls rise up, trapping the subject in a seven feet high fishnet cage. The drone then rises up on its wheels, carrying the subject inside the cage to a place marked by the owner to deposit the captives. That's the Trapping Drone's main task, to trap the invaders in a cage. Only citizens with the Noble Citizen license can purchase this drone from Rainport Technologies. Â Surveillance Drone: Spoiler The DR70SD Surveillance Drone is a drone designed and assembled by Rainport Technologies in Rainport, Buckinstone. It was designed in 2070 and it is still in production to this day. Its main task is to watch an area and report to the central security system if any intruders are found by it. The movement is done via its rotors, which propel it upwards, then it inclines to the front to move forward or back for backwards. It can also turn on its sides like a plane and do loops. The rotors in it are very powerful, as it can go up to 25 meters per second going forward, which is about 55,9 miles per hour. It's quite fast and hard to outrun. SD has a camera with thermal and night vision cameras. It can spot someone hiding by its body temperature. And, has wireless communication capability to the location's central security system, but, it must be set by the drone's owner. SD can also interface with other drones in the location. The main interface features are rendezvous(reunion in a location) and mark targets for further action to be taken by other drone classes. They are easily disarmed by their owners if a disarm is needed in case of emergency. SDs are basically unbeatable when it comes to searching for intruders, unless they are taken out by disabling the Central Security System or cutting the WiFi network in the location. Unpowering the location sends the SD into powerdown mode, which is a mode it goes if it doesn't receive movement commands or communication packets from the security system. So, what do you guys think? I once mentioned this to someone in a Sims 4 community and they gave me the idea to post here, as they could be good ideas for objects in the game. As far as I know, the only similar drone to this in Sims is a robot machine created by Hyperdriver(I think).
ioawdfv Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 I don't know you have seen it or not but there is actually custom drone object that isn't got updated for long time. This the one that I'm talking about.  Quote Pervy Copter (Mod The Sims / MTS) Created by CloudyWeather331 View Policy / About Me View Downloads HomeUploaded 14th Oct 2019 at 4:42 PM · Updated 29th Oct 2019 at 3:38 AM by CloudyWeather331 : Fix bug that wrote to LastException log   Quote StreamingDrone - Always Full Battery / Increased Working Time 2x 4x 6x (Mod The Sims / MTS) by soulkiller Posted 30th Nov 2018 at 6:13 PM - Updated 24th Dec 2018 at 6:29 AM by soulkiller : Text Update Only  Are these above what you meant as example?     Â
yukitokuroya Posted February 22, 2022 Author Posted February 22, 2022 Almost there, some of those mentioned in my post are big like the Azrael, Wasp and Aym. The normal drones are more like the Wasp and Azrael. The Kidnapping Drone is more like the Aym(where it was based on when I created). Anyway, thank you for setting some time to reply to this thread.
yukitokuroya Posted February 25, 2022 Author Posted February 25, 2022 So, uh, no one else? Kinda expected to have a discussion about this, to see what others think about it.
