Z0mBieP00Nani Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Story is I uninstalled a few mods and noticed this a little afterwords and I'm guessing that uninstalling those mods caused this issue. Does anyone know a way to fix it or reset the work bench or something? The Submachine Gun and the R700 mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52950) are the only guns that seem to be affected so far.
Sgt. Marge Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Did you start a new game after removing mods? Because otherwise... that save is broken. If it's happening on a new game, then you've got some load order / compatibility issues. Just keep in mind that once you've locked your load order in and start playing, any changes to your load order should pretty much always result in starting a new game. Otherwise you are playing with fire, and Todd Howard will burn you almost every time. Fallout 4 save files are made of paper machete in a tornado.
Nuka Cherry Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Further to what Marg597 said. uninstalling mods is like pulling the pin on your game - the grenade will go off and your game will get worse. If it is happening on a new save game, then you need to load your modlist in F04 edit, select all mods, and then select from the left pane "check for conflicts". Look at the red mods related to the problem.
Z0mBieP00Nani Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 I guess I'll have to put the saves from this game into a separate file and start a new game to test things... Damn it.. I just started this game not long ago too... I'm not 100% sure if it's a preexisting issue or one that occurred after removing mods.
Nuka Cherry Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Tip: there is no need to become attached to a "save" in a Bethseda game. You can easily load in a new game, edit a character to the desired level and activate whatever quest you are on using the console. Settlements would be lost, but if you push into new areas of the game, it is nothing big.
Z0mBieP00Nani Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 Testing has shown me that this is not related to uninstalling mods, so that's good I guess?... It still doesn't solve the issue though. Bethesda and their buggy games... EDIT: It was a load order issue. moving the esp file associated with that machine gun replacement mod near the bottom of my load order made the issue go away. I'm till not sure what caused the conflict in the first place.
