'Specialanims.esp' no longer working?

Hey, I've run into an odd problem. I recently loaded up Oblivion to find my character had reverted back to the default walking animation. I checked my Specialanims folder to make sure I still had the proper animations loaded (I was using Pretty Woman walk replacer), and sure enough, they were still there. I tried switching the animations out for other animations, mixing and matching, basically every approach I could think of. Nothing worked. 

 

But when I, as a last resort, backed up my walking animations from the default directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data\Meshes\Characters\_male) and overwrote them with the animations for Pretty Woman, it worked just fine. Of course, this had the side-effect of making every NPC share the animations, which I definitely don't want. Seeing guards strut around like pretty princesses and chase down criminals in the most girly manner possible can be amusing for a time, but it's not long before it's simply surreal and disturbing. 

 

I have no idea what's causing this. It was working just fine one day, and the next, it wasn't. Here's my load order.

All it takes is installing one mod that messes with walking idles and your up the creek.  Take a close look at everything you have installed from the time it worked fine to the time it started messing up and see what caused the problem.

 

It could be something like this: Oblivion_Character_Overhaul.esp  as that plugin likely changes vanilla NPC's or something else.  Hard to say.

With that load order you pretty much have to use a Bashed Patch in order to get proper functionality.

Haha, yeah, I know. Almost all my mods work, 90% of the time. I really don't know how. This is my only real issue at the moment. 

 

As for the character overhaul, I don't think that's the issue. I had that installed for well over a week before this issue cropped up. 

 

Edit : Just to clarify, I didn't install anything from the time it worked to the time it didn't. I did, however, uninstall Deadly Reflex.

I myself have issues as well sometimes with umpa sexy walk animation, what I do is move the .esp anim around before bashed patch, after bashed patch and see if it works, what always seems to do the trick is putting the esp at the end of the mod list and would advise to put LoversIdleAnimsPriority.esp and LoversAnimObjectsPriority.esp at the end of the load list, because i once broke lovers and wasnt getting any moans so i had to reinstall lovers and put those two esp at the end of the load order. And since you don't use Wyre bash and don't have the bashed patch esp, try to reinstall the mod and try putting the esp the closest to the end of the load order, wouldn't hurt to put it last just to be sure it works and once you see it works try moving it before the lovers esps I mentioned before.
