hi, I have a big problem. After updating my mods aren't accepted from EA.  I get an error message, that my mods are off, cause some of them maybe not compatible.

I through all mods out from my mod folder and started anew only with the recource.cfg, - then the game started, After that I tried different single mods in the mod folder but still I get everytime the same error message. How can this be?

It's not the first time I updated Sims4 with mods.

Hope someone has an idea.

In the settings after the update, did you activate custom content and scripts?

Yes, I did activate them but still no change

Your mistake was in updating the game without first backing up the folders, so of course the game reports the error. What you should do is create two new folders in a location of your choice (even the desktop is fine) and they will be exactly: Tray and Mods.
Inside these folders you should copy all the files you have.
So, go to C:\Documenti\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 and take the files from the Tray and Mods folders and copy them into the ones you created.

After this step, the Electronic Arts folder must be deleted.

Restart the game (you don't have to play the game just start it), make your settings and, as prompted by the game itself, apply them and then exit the game for the data to be saved. Once you have exited, go back to the previous location and you will see the new folders. All you have to do now is copy the Tray and Mods. Restart the game and the problem should be solved. I've been using Mods since 2014 and have never had any problems, they still work.

I'm glad, for next time, remember to always back up your folders before updating the game ✌️✌️ I always do it too

also important:

after updating the game or any mod(s) delete the "localthumbcache.package" file !!

this forces the game to reload every single mod-file. otherwise it "loads it from the cache" and it might throw an error, since the mod-info from cache and the mod-file itself are not the same anymore
