Spyder Arachnid Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 So I'm looking for a new outfit changer mod for NPCs. I used to use Dudestia's NPC Clothes Changer and Maintainer (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11662/?), but it is outdated and causes way too many errors and crashes. So was looking for something else to do the job, that won't give me all those errors and crashes. Anyone have any ideas? Or am I going to have to just use the console to do it now?
MasaVK Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 When you say npcs do you mean followers/companions? If so i use Amazing Follower Tweaks by Dheuster, it has a awesome option that lets you set three outfits 1. what they wear at home 2. when adventuring 3. when walking around towns/villages.

But it has a tendency to make them naked as well. So I used to use the outfit changer to give them clothes. As well, I enjoyed changing the outfits of the Jarls and several other NPCs as well along the way. So something that can change any NPCs outfit, not just followers. And that isn't so buggy and causes crashes like the Clothes Changer and Maintainer.

Thanks for the idea, but again, that only seems to work for followers. Not NPCs in general. I'm looking for something simple like the Clothes Changer and Maintainer mod I used to use, that allows me to change ANY NPCs outfit, not just followers. Thanks though.

I made "Summer wear" http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25237 for the sole purpose of the fast dressing and redressing of female NPCs , it works on any follower, potential follower, spouse, houscarl, or hireling. PS. It not only works with the outfits provided via dialog, but also works to force npcs to wear whats you place into their inventory.

I was originally going to say that the downside with Summer Wear, is it is a rather large mod just for the outfit changer feature. As well, all the clothing is CBBE, when I use UNP/B. But decided to give it a try, and while it works fine for females, it doesn't work for males. So again, still looking for an NPC Outfit Changer mod that works for both male and female and all NPCs, not just followers.

That is the mod I am looking to replace in the main topic of this thread. That mod is outdated and causes a lot of errors. So I am looking for something else that does what that mod does, but is actually updated. Thanks any ways though. Might help to read the thread next time first.

Working late night sure gets the brain crammed. Forgot to check the links again before posting. However, I don't experience any sort of crashes from the last post since that's the time since I've been trying with the mod. Are you sure you're not using it together with another conflicting mod? I'm using this mod together with Wardrobe Manager and they both run fine together. I can set the followers to automatically change outfit based on situation with WM and have all the guards wear Ebony armors (Guess the Vampires would think twice before attacking the Holds again). Also, I have 255 esp running and some extra patched in by Wrye Bash.

Overlordnim Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I have to say, im a little disappointed myself, i just got the idea that i would LOVE to change NPC clothing for everyone, put them in fitting outfits or something, i have alot of mods that overhaul npcs/followers/etc through out the game, not to mention custom NPCs that while i can change their outfit, they either convert to the old one, or just go.. Well... Nude, and that bothers me, because it is kind of annoying. Not to mention being able to change children's clothing to Modded gear, and other NPC's that can't be followers. I wish there was an updated version of NPC Clothing Changer, it seems great otherwise.. PS. i know this thread maybe dead, but eh'
