Mod Idea: Thief Steals Items

So I've tried a few mods that might be close to this (Defeat, Cursed Loot, Naked Dungeons), but I haven't found this as an exact feature that I was wondering if it could be possible

As we've played Skyrim, I'm sure we've run into the Thief random encounter, where the thief will demand you hand over your valuables. I was thinking what if we could set up a mod where he could take not only your gold, but your weapons, potions, armor, or even clean you out entirely? I know other mods let NPCs have their way with you if you surrender or they beat you in combat, and they can even take your items that way, but I'm thinking the thief would be one that, if you comply, would just leave you with nothing out in the middle of the wilderness. You'd then have 3 days to hunt down the Thief that, according to the Elder Scrolls Wiki, would be running toward Brandy-Mug Farm.

Settings could include

  • How often the Thief appears, either by a timer or depending on how much you're carrying of value (the thief could even make comments about how common of a mark you are)
  • What the Thief steals, be it based on item value or item types
  • If Devious Devices is installed and you choose to fight and lose, the Thief would take your items and lock you up, either in devices you happened to have or that they were carrying.
  • If followers also lose their items
  • If the items can be found at one of the various fences around Skyrim after the 3 day time limit is up
  • If the Thief will steal from you in one of the cities/towns, based on time of day and if guards or NPCs are around to stop them

I know absolutely nothing about Skyrim modding, so I don't know how difficult this would be to create, so if anyone wants to take this idea and roll with it, go right ahead. Otherwise, if anyone knows a great place to start on making this mod, I'm willing to start learning in my spare time.

I think that's a good idea. I don't have enough time to take on a second mod, but if you do end up trying to develop it I can provide details about how to start implementing it. It'd be a bit long-winded of a description, that I'll save for if it's necessary, so @ or quote if you decide that you'll be the one making it.
