Piper no longer following

I was settlement bundling when I noticed Piper was no following. I found her in one of the houses I made, but would not  follow me. She does everything a companion should do just fine  I command her to move to a spot, she moves to the spot  tell he to inspect something, she does it We sleep in a bed, she sleeps in a bed and the lover embrace perk comes up , trigger a sex scene, there’s no problem. Talking to her works fine, and she gives munchies per usual. She just will no longer follow me. I try to command her to follow she will just stand there. If I Fast travel or enter/exit a building, she’s not there. I’ve tried dismissing her for other companions,  the game will give me the options to send her to a settlement/publik occurrences, but she will dismiss as she would and just stay right where she is. I have no problem, so far as I’ve seen, with the other companions. Tried toggling ai, killing and resurrecting her, enable/disable, resetactor, and changing faction; nothing seems to get her to follow me

Also, is the house you made from a mod?  Some of the mods that feature "modern" homes have a warning that there is no navmeshing, meaning that if someone gets put in there, then they can't navigate back out.    There is a way to create them, but you have to go into CK or look for a patch for that particular mod.

What happens if you try an older save file, like before you got to that settlement where you noticed the issue?

I’m playing on Survival, with the Survival Options mod, so there’s no saves from before I noticed

It’s just a simple shack with all standard floors, walls and roof. it happened at Nukaworld Red Rocket post open season

if that makes a difference

All those have navmeshing.   I have, in the past, had a follower lag behind me when going into a building, but usually, once I get far enough away (like in another cell) they TP to me.   Otherwise, it will be tilda time and moveto player <NPC ID number>

Just a tip about that, I play the same way.  I've found that the Smokeable Cigars with hardcore auto save mod works incredibly well for saves in survival mode, so much so that I mainly rely on that now.  It actually creates a unique save, and does not use the normal autosave function.  And it's immersive so your character actually smokes a cigarette and then throws it out (like a filthy litterbug) and then the save occurs.

A couple of times in this play through the exitsave stopped working, and I had to delete all the autosaves and exitsaves to get it to start working again.

Exitsave and autosaving in Fallout is a tenuous beast and I've found it to be unreliable.  But also in Survival options you can toggle certain save options to not use autosave, and that can help.  I have it set that way for location change.  There was a time when I only used autosave and it got corrupted, and I read that can happen if it's used too often but I don't have hard evidence about that.

If you have cheat terminal, go to public occurances in DC and use cheat terminal to teleport Piper to you. Then dismiss her there and stay completely away from DC for 3 game days at least before going back to her. This "might" reset her so she functions normally again.

I dismissed her as a companion and resetactor to send her to Publik   Occurrences. I’ll see if waiting a few days will work

Are you running a mod like RSA II, Crime and Punishment, or Boston Devious helper, that force kidnaps or force relocates your player?  I've noticed that when I'm forced to a new location after a kidnapping, it messes up companions and followers.  One time I had Dogmeat (Everyone's Best Friend), and both Heather Casdin and Piper with me while using Boston Devious Helper on a playthrough, and I was kidnapped (force moved) to Hub City Auto Wreckers.  After escaping captivity, Piper, Heather and Dogmeat were all broken.  I tried "resetAI," "disable/enable", and "recycleactor" console commands, but it didn't matter.  All three were irreparably broken.  I could interract with them, but they refused to follow me anymore.  Heather in particular would do nothing, but always ran back to her original starting location.  Dismissing and rehiring her did nothing.  Weird...

Hi ! I've installed Boston Device Helper and since, I have the same problem. Have you find the solution ? I deleted BDH and I play normal game (not survivor). Thanks
