[Req]Invaders at night

Hi there, folks!

Today when I was in my home in solitude, doing stuff, disenchanting, sleeping... I was getting an idea for a mod (which I can not make myself since i do not have the knowledge to do so). I mean, we are living in Skyrim, and the Dragonborn him(or her)self can choose to sneak into a house and rob unsuspecting people of their possessions. And so I was wondering: Why not make a mod that makes a thief or something break into your house, maybe steal some of the stuff thats standing around in your house or even your inventory (configurable of course. I, for myself, wouldn't want my inventory stolen) and of course at the end he will get to the sleeping you and have his way with the player who was - until now - just peacefully sleeping. That's about the basic idea that came to mind a few minutes ago and I thought I could share it with you. Maybe someone with the skills to do it will create that mod, if not, well... It's just an Idea that I liked to share.

So long~

So a mod that allows Bandits, Thieves, etc. to wander into your house and steal from you (Thief), attack you (Murder), or rape you? Like the idea,I mean what if you have Hearthfire and all's well in your house until the night-time when you sleep if it's unguarded.

You know what? This is something i really miss in the game in general. It would not only add to immersion (since you already see thives at night in Riften trying to steal and break into homes) but it would also need you to lock up your home properly...hm, if there would be an option to do that since you have the keys to your homes. Hiring guards for Hearthfire homes would be a must since you can't leave your adopted kids in a remote and dangerous enviroment (dragons!) alone and unprotected - one steward isn't enough. I currently use the "Guards at your home" mod for Hearthfires DLC to keep those random encounters at bay while cooking a soup inside for my siblings XD. But the idea that I'm not the only perv in Skyrim with primal needs intrigues me -> "Burglars: Not only stealing your treasure at night, they plunder it as well!" muhahaha!

There is a lot to do with player sleeping, and good events available to do so (OnSleepStart/End and OnSleepStop) a mod like this shouldn't be too hard to do I think, maybe with AI packages. Anyway that's an interesting and good idea!

Ultimate Deadly Encounters is the closest thing to that. It used to be called Sleeping and Fast Travel Dangers - Sands of Time until not too long ago when the author picked it back up and finished it. IMO it's a great mod, but it feels incomplete by intruder variations. Currently all intruders/ambushers just want to kill the player. They don't care about stealing or raping, but rather just killing the player.

I'm fine with the rape and killing but the stealing should be optional, I mean, when trying to make armors I leave ingots in the house, it would be very annoying to get to a empty house.

I agree. I would be furious if I got back to my house, just to find that some unique item, that I had actually obtained legitimately after a long and grueling battle, had up and disappeared, lost forever. IF, however, coming home to find you'd been robbed would trigger a quest, pointing you to a bandit lair where they'd run off to with your stuff, where you might be able to track them to, and take your things back? THAT would certainly be interesting! (Also, dunno how difficult it'd be, if it'd even be possible at all, but... maybe go even further - maybe they don't just steal belongings; maybe they might try to kidnap your spouse or children? And then they leave a note, or send a courier to you with it, giving you instructions on where to deliver a ransom to get them back... ...of course, going all Liam Neeson in Taken on them would also be an option. Obviously! :D)

For a simpler approach, though? Just have toggle-able options in an MCM configuration menu to indicate what you're willing to allow the mod to let people steal from your home, a few ideas being: Nothing; gold only; displayed items; items in containers; clutter; enchanted items; tempered items; items above or below a set gold value... and so on.

Of course, I have NO idea how "simple" that might actually be, but... eh... it's an idea at least, eh?

Simple start would be something like what Joburg had for Oblivion, with the sleep-stalking stuff. Of course, there's also the PSE perverted burglar for Oblivion, which would be pretty close to what you're suggesting, although personally I'm against having my stuff taken away on a regular basis, since having to hunt it down or risk it getting lost in some despawn or bug detracts from the game..

Well, I wouldn't want my stuff stolen either - but some people may, for immersion reasons. Which is why I'd suggest that this whole thing gets its options and stuff toggleable in the options menu available via skyUI.

I would like that. Imagine my female dragonborn sleeping alone at home and someones invading her house....yo know that's a really hot feature.
So many things that could happen. From just waking up naked (Dark Investigations anyone?^^) to...more ;)

It should also heavily depend on where you have your house set. Keeping in mind custom cells if possible.

My vampiric PC lives at Castle Volkihar, with all the vampire tenants intact, and skeleton guardians respawned. Frankly, if a thief breaks into the castle to steal my loot, he deserves that damn Lute. Balls the size of Nirn; his rucksack isn't to carry his loot, they are his gonads.

Certain places wouldn't be logical for a thief to target, is what i'm saying.

Hahaha yes that would be one awesome motherfucker xD

Anyway you've got a point there.
