KS SMP Hair goes stiff during SL animations

Hello!

I have a problem that I've tried to figure out for a long time now. This started happening out of nowhere, so i really have no clue what the cause is. The problem is that during sexlab animations, the hair goes "stiff". There is no physics at all. When the animation is finished, the hair goes back to normal, and the physics are working again.

In the beginning i noticed that the NPC's hair started stretching when walking into pools and undressed. I tried to install the new "Faster HDT SMP" mod without luck and even tried reinstalling mods (3BBB, KS Hairdos SMP, CBPC etc.).

I think I've mentioned most of whats needed to understand the problem. If anyone has any ideas what may be causing this, help would be very much appreciated!

 Thats some wild stuff.

Options are multiple, and mostly weird. Does problem exist on a new save, or manifests in time?

SMP hair uses collision "armor", wich technicly should not really interact with much of anything else. But i guess it could be possible to "unequip" said armor, thus breaking SMP for hair and causing your issue. If problem is tied not to nudity, but specificly to SL scene, thats the direction id go into. At least it makes some sense.

Try resetting SL strip overrides, or using SL "clean system" option (dont forget to export settings).

Another option is - if you run mods that equip something specificly during SL scenes, i suppose it could technicly cause the same effect by equiping something else into the same slot.

Then again, if NPC getting undressed causes bugs, it means that unequiping slot 32 wich overrides body (can have no physics at all with armor) and switching to, i presume, SMP nude body, is in itself enough to cause problems. In wich case id try to update and reinstall your SMP setup, and probably go for more optimized settings.

Thanks for the reply! And for the explanation how SMP hair works. I'm still fairly new to SSE and SMP, which I didn't use in oldrim.

Made a new save on existing character, reset SL strip overrides without any luck. Then tried cleaning the system after exporting my settings, and wouldn't you know, the hair physics are now activated at all times! Tried removing clothes, tried several different animations, and everything works. Imported my old settings, tried different NPC's with HDT hair and still no sign of stiff hair. I guess when frustrating problems like this occurs, you forget checking the simple and obvious :P

My last remaining question is as follows: What could the problem be exactly? How could i prevent this issue in the future?

And again, thank you so much for the friendly reply and help for my problem :)

Not a clue, really. Ive never seen such a bug, its definetly not a native to SL framework. So, anythng that modifies its functions could be a suspect. I do ecnourage the approach of eliminating the issue, but it trial and error from here. Good luck)

Update: After some more testing, It seems that when animations are started through dialouge (ex eager npcs), the hair physics doesn't always work. Starting an animation through MCM usually fixes this. However, some hairstyles doesn't work at all during animations. Goes stiff during animation, returns to normal afterwards. I suppose the problem should be within the hair mod itself?

Will continue searching for a solution. Any input is appreciated!

There arent too much SMP hair available.

KS on nexus and dint999 works mostly. If you're using those - they are 100% functional.

Problem has to be on user end. If problem is exclusive to SL scenes - has to be something that affects it.

I just spent about 5 hours trying to fix this issue for my own hair mod. Turns out exporting parts individually divide's the bones and smp doesn't like that so you get stiff bones each time there is a transition in game(Cell change, SL starting teleport, anim start/change etc.) so whoever made the hair probably made the same mistake as I did.

It's a bit tedious but it can be fixed.

Hello!

Late reply, but I'm curious on how you fixed the issue. The stiff hair still occurs at random times for me.
