Nymra Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I am using MO2 with Notepad++ to compile all my scripts. This worked perfectly until 2 hours ago when it stopped. I compiled and the notepad++ just stuck with "compilin..." forever. I had to shut it down via task manager. I had this problem last year but restarting my PC solved it. Not this time Now I updated Notepad++ to the latest version and tried this guide to set it up: https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Notepad%2B%2B_Setup But it cannot find the compiler I am close to throwing one of my screens out of the damned window... Pasted the whole line now... "H:\01_GAMES\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Papyrus Compiler\ScriptCompile.bat" "$(FILE_NAME)" "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)" and now it just opens another error window -.-
Dorabella Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Have you tried to restore it to the previous version of the Update?

I m totally lost right now... currently trying to dig through CPUs notepad++ guide. Cannot remember how I first did it, it was years ago. Basically nothing works at this point and I m out of time and energy, so I have to continue later Reverting to the old version is my step 2 when this fails, but I m afraid the update overwrote all my setups for notepad++ that made papyrus and the compiler work. Who the fuck is making updates like that -.-
Dorabella Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I don't know how much it will help but, this is the whole folder of my Notepad ++ updated to 2018. I use Windows 7. In theory, it should be enough to extract and paste everything into the directory for it to work. The maximum damage that could happen is that it doesn't work It is not a cracked or dubious program. Downloaded from the Official site Notepad++.rar

I reverted back to old version of Notepad++ (7.00) and I am back with the initial problem that the compiling never ends... I also cannot complete CPUs guide since one step just does not match what I see in the menu... ?

Ideally, if it is damaged, it should be removed by restoring the program PS : . As I understand it, this is a problem with a program and not with Skyrim. Maybe it was better to put the thread here Skyrim General Discussion or here Technical Support

Maybe it was better to put the thread here Skyrim General Discussion or here Technical Support well, this is funny. I tried to install PCA (Papy Compiler App from nexus) to see how it is as alternative and compiled ONE script... and then magically the NotePad++ compiler started working again..... my theory is now that N++ was maybe unable to parse an error in the script (there was a ´ where it should not be) and stuck without displaying errors. PCA displayed the error, I could fix it and compile and then my n++ worked again because the script with the error was the base config script from my mod so the error blocked all others from compiling. Interesting discovery and at least now I have a workaround for this hopefully extremly rare case which for me seems to be basically a bug in n++ or the papyrus plugin, lol thx alot anyway, releaves some stress knowing that I am at least not alone in the wild, haha
