Kuroyami Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Consider this more of a discussion and development thread, contrasting with the related blog that is more general information. As well as perhaps some basic assistance in development and if desired, some suggestions on potential content for the mods described here. Blacksmithing Basis - By far the simplest of mods, having the intent of adding crafting stations to locations in the vanilla game that do not have them. This does not include cities, or some villages, as other mods tend to cover them. Daedric Rejects "This place, is a nexus of Daedric power, even here on Nirn. It does not break the barrier between Mundus and Oblivion, because it serves a purpose which those who created it, did not intend. It exists as a matter of knowledge and information, not invasion." Basis - Focusing heavily on NPCs that, to some extent, worship a given Daedric Prince, but their reverence varies. Most Princes will have at least one related NPC, if not more. The mod's main quest will begin when the PC has completed a vanilla Daedric quest, with the additional requirement that the artefact is gained. As an example, if the player completes Vaermina's quest, but does not gain the Skull of Corruption, this mod's quest will not start. Additionally, the Skeleton Key(and some other minor artefacts) will not count for this quest. Lights Out!, Expanded "I would ask why, but I suppose it was stupid of us to expect you to simply do as asked. Still, I suppose this outcome for me, and my siblings is better than the alternative." Basis - The mod intends on adding the option in the mentioned vanilla quest, in order to spare both Deeja and Jaree-Ra. Additionally, a new area has been added to Broken Oar Grotto, as well as(as of this post) three other related Argonian NPCs, two intended as potential followers. Nordic Gods "What would I ask of you? Only what you are willing. The House welcomes all, and one like yourself will be the most well received." Basis - Focused on several Lesser, but still powerful Aedric characters, this mod will see the player follow in the path of an Imperial Scholar that sought the power of creation, but for much more mundane reasons than it sounds. SOS Addon - Uncut Basis - An addon for SOS, which will have two versions, supporting the vanilla races(including Vampire Lords, but that is a W.I.P due to textures and needing to fix SOS' position file for the race), and the other supporting the vanilla races alongside the Lykaios - requiring the Lyakios Reborn mod. Both versions are enabled for Male and Female use. Additionally, this mod's plugin references are injected into the Update.esm, and thus are shared with some of the other mod's listed here, the reason for this being so that usage of two or more of these mods will have 1 addon being loaded, and used for the Player, alongside any NPCs assigned to this addon's faction. Vampire Hideouts "The hunters would ask the question as to why we continue to exist. Believing that we only take from the world, adding nothing to it. But most of them would never care to understand if we add to the world at all. What about you?" Basis - Catering mostly to Vampires, this mod will add a number of locations for that purpose. Each location will likely have a decent number of NPCs, some of them being potential followers. Quests Out of Madness - An additional quest running alongside the vanilla Mind of Madness, and a bit beyond, players will find a new NPC, Marae, who will later introduce a informal collection quest, focusing on the vanilla game's notable artefacts, mostly Daedric, as well as items related to the MQ, alongside Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Other - NPC Replacers Fjotra - Sybil of Dibella - Replaces the vanilla child race Fjotra with an older female Breton(vanilla playable race) NPC. Kaleen the Sentinel - A replacer for Markarth's housecarl, this changes said NPC to a female Redguard.
Kuroyami Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 Vampire Hideouts Artefact Display Room/Quest This will only be a short quest, with the collection and display of items left to the player's discretion. At the moment, this will include all of the Daedric Artefacts, save for Nocturnal, as one can't keep the Skeleton Key. Due to some performance concerns, some of the "displays" will be separate cells - but some small details will be enabled when an item is first displayed in those cases. Overview Spoiler Included in the middle of the room will be about enough displays for all vanilla armors/weapons - some DLC armors/weapons will be included at the back of the hall, with the other DLC content. Azura Display Spoiler Even if both Azura's Star and the Black Star can't be gained in a single run, both can be displayed here. Mephala Display Spoiler At this point, only the webs are likely to stay. Any present spiders are likely to be decorative, and only static meshes. Molag Bal Display Spoiler One display likely to change, at least somewhat. The present blood will be drinkable, and will give the PC the same effect as having consumed a Blood Potion, in addition to increasing the "Necks Bitten" stat - though eventually this will have a few hours to a day wherein these sources can't be used, or will only provide healing. Peryite Display Spoiler Sanguine Display Spoiler All the present consumables will respawn, and are free for the player to take. Vaermina Display Spoiler This would be one where it is mostly as intended, though some of the cell could be redone. But this does have one major issue - while set to the same imagespace and lighting used during the "dream" sequence of Vaermina's quest, as can be seen, that isn't working in-game, but looks as desired in the Kit. As of this point, I am unsure as to why. Additionally, sleeping in the shown bed, pending Vaermina's quest is completed, and the Skull of Corruption is displayed, the player will receive a permanent %3 bonus to skill increases, on the basis of having fewer nightmares while sleeping.
Kuroyami Posted December 4, 2021 Author Posted December 4, 2021 Vampire Hideouts "Dig. Dig to the deep. But how far would they go? Here, they dug only far enough to find a source of life - water. But in their hubris, they used magic in effort to preserve this source. Some time after their disappearance, it came into use by many, bandits, marauders, all manner of those who would perhaps not see a value in a underground spring. So the water became tainted with the stink of mortality - dirt, flesh, blood. But the last, seemed to stick. The magic taking all that was, and making a source of life, become one that would feed only the dead." The Reach Hideout Spoiler "Hiding. Really? Look around. This is a haven for our kind, and we are not hiding. We are thriving. The only one here that is hiding, and perhaps festering, is me. I ran from those damned fools, after their sick obsession's with the dragon of pestilence. A blessing from the worshipped infirm. LOOK upon the scars that remain, and will never go away. All it took to save me, was yet another sickness, and now, the consumption of blood. I don't need your pity, and I don't need your help, idiot." -Likely the basic background of one of this location's characters, Sunny, an Afflicted Breton whose additional Vampiric gift, saved her life from the sickness of Peryite. Spoiler A sort of hub based location, with a number of features useful to the player. At the moment, this includes an Alchemist, a Blacksmith, a Temple of Dibella, and a player home. Alchemist Spoiler Dibella Shrine & Rooms Exterior Spoiler Included around the entrance to the Temple are doors to a number of rooms, used by some of the locations NPCs. The Tower structure to the left in the first image, allows access to the Temple without changing cells. Interior Spoiler Included here is Lily, the Priestess of the Temple. Main Shrine Spoiler The usage of this asset ties into the effective story of this particular Temple - believing that one who resembles this depiction of Dibella, can offer the most pleasure in life. But depictions of Dibella as female, and women or men wishing to respect, revere or worship Dibella are not turned away - they are welcomed just the same. Usable Blood Spoiler One of two copied assets that allow Vampire players to feed, including increasing the "Necks Bitten" stat. The Silver Bowl used here is a static version. This is likely to be one of the many places these assets will be found in the mod. Player Home Spoiler Close to the lift from the Skyrim worldspace, this tower leads to a area usable by the player - no quest or keys required. And lastly, a potential Follower, Caren, a Redguard scholar, whose main focus of study is on the Dwemer, though she equally has knowledge of History and Magic. Spoiler Her outfit is a custom one, and a W.I.P. It will be craftable by the player, and a version of the main armor may exist that works for Futa/Trans characters. Caren's Room Spoiler Obviously a W.I.P. Spoiler Found in Caren's room, this note book will give the player the Dwarven Smithing perk, pending the player has at least 30 in Smithing.
Kuroyami Posted January 8, 2022 Author Posted January 8, 2022 Vampire Hideouts Chapel of the Sacred Blood "You believe humans are merely the prey of Vampires? If so, then you are short-sighted. Even amongst merely mortals, you may make prey of each other, believing the term 'force', equates with that of strength. To this end, these 'strong' mortals will exploit the weak, normally focusing on two groups - women, and yes, children. But in short supply, men considered weak will also be thrown to these wolves. My efforts in the past months has been to wipe away their filth, but my issue lies not in men, but in the actions of mortals that exploit others for pleasure or profit. Should you respect those who walk these halls, you shall find nothing but respect, as your actions prove you deserve." A Cathedral built once in the worship of the Divines, perhaps by the same whose talents created the Temple of the Divines in Solitude, this structure fell into the hands of those who used tools of perceived strength, and religion to subjugate those to weak to contest them. Blind to their crimes, and the isolation of the wilderness, this travesty was allowed to continue for an unknown period, until salvation came, not at the hands of the Guards of the Pale, but a group of Vampires, who instead placed a value in life, and freedom, making efforts to find these wayward souls some measure of strength, and of course, freedom. A few stayed, not merely as sources of blood, but feeling content to live under the protection of those with actual strength, that is not misused. Exterior Spoiler (Still a W.I.P, but should not require too many more changes.) Devoted to the vices of pleasure and love, those residing here see equal worship of both Dibella, and Sanquine(The Dibella statue may be added here...). Spoiler
Kuroyami Posted January 24, 2022 Author Posted January 24, 2022 Lights Out!, Expanded -As an addendumn to the mention in the first post, this mod will extend the vanilla quest, allowing the PC to spare Deeja, at which point she begins following the player(ala Delphine in the MQ), and once you travel to Broken Oar Grotto, you will meet Jaree-Ra earlier in the area, and after a short conversation, the trio will deal with the Blackblood Marauders in the cell, and of course Captain Hargar. Doing the quest in this way will net the PC both Deeja and Jaree-Ra as followers(likely adding such details through scripting), alongside access to the additional cell mentioned below. The vanilla path will still be available. -The mod will include a SOS addon, essentially the same as mentioned in the first post. As per the first post explanation, a second area of Broken Oar Grotto has been added. Spoiler Spoiler As well as three new Argonian NPCs, each related to the vanilla siblings. Xuzu Spoiler She is a potential follower, her focus in combat is a single blade and spells. She has a deeper interest in magic than just her current knowledge of perhaps apprentice level magic, occasionally spending time alone with books. Kasa-Ra Spoiler A second potential follower, he practices more defensive magic. Wuja-Ra Spoiler Also, there will be some non-hostile, and Argonian Blackblood Marauders added to both Broken Oar Grotto cells, while the vanilla cell will have maybe 3 or so hostile variants.
Kuroyami Posted February 21, 2022 Author Posted February 21, 2022 SOS Addon - Uncut A standalone Addon using SOS' framework, this mod supports Males and Females of all vanilla races, and Vampire Lords(current support is a W.I.P, more below). A version will also be released that additionally supports Bad Dog's Lykaios Reborn mod. Screenshots Spoiler Issues -The mod by default includes the schlong textures from SOS' default VP, and the UNP addon. This gives the mod something in the way of textures, but requires users to load this mod before any others that load textures for the default males and females, as well as replace the textures from said mods. The only exception to this would be for the Lykaios Support version, where this mod includes it's own custom textures for them - Thanks to Blaze69! -As the mod intends to support Vampire Lords, it was a question of mine if some seemingly unknown detail needed to be added to SOS or the game itself to support said race. But as may be obvious, there isn't, beyond the assets that the mod either already includes, or perhaps need to be added, but would be no different from other races. That said, the first detail is the matter of the position or .hkx file, which determines the placement of the schlong mesh - and the fact that the file exists within SOS' files, but seems a work in progress itself(see below images). So that will eventually need to be fixed. The second detail is the matter of textures - since SOS' development seems to have halted with only minimal work done for the Vampire Lords to be basically supported by the mod, the mod includes no textures for said race. Spoiler Credits SOS - B3lisario and VP Lykaios Textures - KrittaKitty(Might not apply, but listed here even so...), Bad Dog and Blaze69 Male and Female Schlong Meshes - Yncien(Base Female Meshes and UUNP files), Blaze69(Male Meshes) Only some minimal testing before release.
