I have a different issue, namely that Sexologists and Gem Incubator jobs do not even show up in the job list. This may be interference from Production Revolution mod, since it does so many changes to jobs, but previous versions of LV Extras got along just fine with PR, jobs showed up, took pops, and made outputs. But this version, no jobs.

Hmm, no change. The policy and output are still missing. 

 

The empire policy is entirely missing. There is nothing in my policy window related to the sexopolis at all.

Well, now I just feel stupid. I was assuming that this was a mod conflict up until now after I checked the policy file for LV it turns out that it only checks for one ascension perk and three origins. It does not check whether you own the planet or anything else. So me taking it over in a war could never enable the policy. So this is a vanilla lustful void bug nothing to do with mods. 

 

I just fixed it by adding the perk via console.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I've been at this for a few hours now. I must be missing something. I've read and re-read the mod page but I can't figure it out. I'll just move along without it, but I thought it would be neat to try.  If anyone has any ideas I'm open...

 

The jist:

 

Every time I choose Tentacle World for a civic, I am insta-defeated when I start a game.

 

Game and all DLC loaded.

 

Tried these combos for custom mods (no others) to no avail, I get insta-defeat:

First of all sorry for the delay. I try to reply sooner but this time of year is a bit busy, I hope you understand. I haven’t had a chance to sit down at the computer and address these issues yet. This is all I can say for now from my phone.

Glad you figured this out. I never considered the fact you could conquer a world either. I’ll bring this up in the discord as well to make sure Lithia sees it. Maybe instead of checking the government stuff we could check the planet type. I’ll have to see if the script allows that and how expensive it would be.

Im using tweaks just fine in my installation. Usually when jobs are missing it means there are multiple definitions present that are conflicting. 
Here are some things you can try. 

  • Make sure Patches is loaded second last and Tweaks should load after that. LV should load first. 
  • Make sure when you install the mods you are deleting any old version. As a troubleshooting measure you should delete all the mods and reinstall from archive. 
  • Make sure all mods and submods are up to date and you aren’t using anything that hasn’t been updated to 0.6.5. 
  • Send me your load order so I can test what you’re running.

This sounds like it might be an issue on my end. I’ll need to test the civics again. Maybe something changed that I forgot to update. Can you tell me though what origin are you using? This could have something to do with it. Try with prosperous unification if you have not already. 

Those load orders are correct. 

 

EDIT: I cannot replicate the game over. Please try reinstalling all the LV mods from archive. Make sure you delete the entire folder first. 

 

EDIT 2: Small update for LV Patches

LV Patches:

NEW: 2.2.3

  • Overrides research institute and ministry of production buildings (and their hive equivalents) to support Sexologists and Gem Incubators.

 

EDIT 3: Small update to LV Extras

LV Extras:

2.2.5

Small change to the logic for unlocking Sexologist and Gem Incubator policy. If you are using KV either update that mod or load this second to avoid a conflict. This should fix the issue encountered by @Fake438

I think that mod breaks a lot of stuff because it messes with core game mechanics. I tend to stay away from that kind of mod.

This is actually from KV. But yeah I realized there were going to be a few localization problems like this. If I have time I might fix it but it’s not really a priority right now. That version of KV is just meant to be a tie over until Lithia incorporates it into LV.

I've been having an odd crash and it might be related to lvTweaks but not 100% sure.

 

I've had it happen 3 times so far and each time the last entry in the error logs is:

 [eventscope.cpp:2126]: Script error, create_pop species: 'event_target:tentacle_spawn' is invalid at  file: common/decisions/yyy_lvtweaks_decision_overrides.txt line: 310

Ahh okey, yeah getting mods a bit mixed up with their being some overlap and you having your fingers in all of them doing some good work :P

EDIT: You're missing the mod that this decision comes from. That's probably the reason for the crash. Does it crash when playing normally or only if you try to activate the "Spawn Sapient Tentacle" decision. If it's the latter, then I recommend that you just avoid using this decision. If it's the former that means it's probably the AI trying to activate the decision. I'll have to think of some way to disable it if the corresponding mod is missing.

Thanks for looking at this, and I feel like a idiot now for it being so obvious and simple. It was happening while I was playing normally. I'll add the missing mods on my end, which will fix the issue for me at least.

Good to know that it crashes even with using the decision yourself. In that case I’ll probably change all the ai weights to zero so this doesn’t keep happening.

Heads up, using that mod without LV Patches might cause your Escort jobs to disappear. If you get that problem add LV Patches too.

Deleting and using the most recent from 12/28/2021 fixed the issue for me. Thank you very much.

To note, with the previous version of the files, the icon for the tentacle civic showed a ? and now it shows a proper icon. 

I'm still going to assume I was doing something wrong.

Small update with a little bit of new content for you all to enjoy. 

 

LV Extras 2.3.0

  • Improved trait icons courtesy of Ascens.
  • Adds two government edics.
    • One for improved planetary development.
    • One for improved megastructure construction.
    • Costs 300 influence to enact and uses 3 edict slots (something to make use of all that admin capacity)
  • Small tweak to the civics for improved compatibility.

I purposely lowered the trait point cost in LV tweaks. But I checked LV Patches and it has the  same costs as Expansion 1.4. As far as I can tell everything is ok.

If you have the crash issue that @DrGauss was having or just want to be on the safer side, delete the file common/decisions/yyy_lvtweaks_decision_overrides.txt
If you're missing any of the submods, this should fix any potential problems, hopefully.
