Hi. I installed Fallout4.

I then installed Mo2 and F4SE and a bunch of mods.

Whn i first ran Fallout via default lanucher it was full screen and sharp and pretty.

When i run it via SKSE its got a black border frame and low resolution and ugly. I have set it to Ultra and fullscreen and a high resolution in the Options section in the default main launch window.

So why cant i get it to load like that via F4se ( Mo2)?

Mo2. i havent created a shortcut from Mo2. I click my skse loader within Mo2. Before i even started adding mods i had launched Fallout from its default launcher ( not Mo2) just to set its options ie fullscreen, Ultra 1080 etc.

Then once i installed Mo2 and f4se and a few mods i launched it within Mo2 with the F4se .

Its as if MO2/f4se is launching the game with totally different screen settings to a default game launch. I can still launch it perfectly if i click the actual Fallout4 ( not Mo2/f4se) and its full screen and hig resolution.

But with f4se via MO2 its horrible looking, totally different resolution and not full screen

:(

I even am finding that if i launch Fallout4 via its default executable but within MO2 its also really crappy looking. The only way i get the image and screen and look i want is if i dont launch anything from MO2.

So what is Mo2 doing? and how can i fix it. Its as if MO2 is not communicating with the option choices i did via the main Steam launcher. What ever i change in the main menu via steam isnt effecting anything within Mo2.

BethINI at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

This utility will generate and tweak your .ini files.  Good for Skyrim as well.

Display Portion of Fallout4Prefs.ini file.  This is where you enter the resolution you want the game to run at. You need to know what your graphic card is capable of doing for resolution.  The file attached is only the display portion and not the whole file.  It is just so you can see where to enter the resolution.  I would use BethINI to generate your .ini files.  It will make backups of your existing ones if they exist.  You can find name of your card under Device Manager/Display Adapter in the control panel.

In MO2 look under the Puzzle Piece icon.  You can see the .ini files there if they have been generated.  You need to run the game at least once to have the game generate these.  Again you can also create them with the above utility.  Place them here:

C:\Modorganizer 2\Fallout 4\profiles\Fusion  (Your profile name in place of Fusion)  This is where fallout.ini, fallout4Prefs.ini, and fallout4custom.ini are located.  Please note that your directory path may vary from above.

You also need to know your aspect ratio.  Some mods may need a different version if you are 21:9 instead of 16:9.

Spoiler
  • 32:9 aspect ratio: 3840×1080, 5120×1440
  • 21:9 aspect ratio: 2560×1080, 3440×1440, 5120×2160
  • 16:9 aspect ratio: 1280×720, 1366×768, 1600×900, 1920×1080, 2560×1440, 3840×2160, 5120×2880, 7680×4320
  • 16:10 aspect ratio: 1280×800, 1920×1200, 2560×1600
  • 4:3 aspect ratio: 1400×1050, 1440×1080, 1600×1200, 1920×1440, 2048×1536
