gsguns
I can merge patches using tes5edit,but I dont know what is that and what it does can someone explain me? Link to comment
Ark of Truth
A merged patch is a feature used in Wrye Bash. Considering that you don't know it is it is most likely best you don't touch it. Link to comment
gsguns
I created this topic so I can know it,explain then? Link to comment
lordofthedread
Your best bet is to look for tutorials for Wrye Bash. Do you already know what is a bashed patch? A merged bashed patch allows you to load your esp by the patch itself and not by the game load order, thus allowing you to go over the limit of 255 esp, this is particularly useful for things like hair packs or armors. I know Wrye Bash is not very user friendly but it is the best way to merge mods without editing esp inside the CK and it is also one of the best tools to get a stable Skyrim (or Oblivion). CGi
Not to mention, that TES5Edit can create Merged Patches too. Like FONVEdit and so on.Benefits? if, for example, 2 or more mods add to a specific leveled list, the last mod will win, discarding the changes from the other mods.Merging those mods allows all of them to add their stuff. in case of TES5Edit, even specific entries from items are merged. Good for old mods, that may override changes from the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. Still needs some manual editing, but TES5Edit gathers all informations you need in one go.Wrye for Skyrim does not cover all possibilities with it's Bashed Patch and so doesn't TES5Edit with it's merged patch function.Unlike TES4 or FONV, Bashed Patch and Merged Patch can be use together. Just create the Bashed Patch after the Merged Patch. Just in case. Link to comment
gsguns
If I have, let's say 5 armors mod and I select and merge them, then it will be created an esp with all those files in it.Then I wouldnt have to use those mods anymore and just the esp? Link to comment
CGi
Not completly wrong, but in most cases, the original mod is still needed to be active in your laod order. Bashed PATCH and Merged PATCH are just patches. in case of TES5Edit merges, the original mods are needed to be active. in case of Wrye, completly imported mods will be disabled automaticly.W/e they patch, they are no pure merger. But seeing that you're completly new to such stuff, try to read the docs of Wrye and TES5Edit. Link to comment
venomg3
not true you can merge mods pretty easy nowadays read thishttp://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/904953-how-to-merge-multiple-mods-with-multiple-master-files/ with a little practice you can easily merge anything into a new plugin very fast just keep in mind that if a plugins are tied to a bsa your will need to unpack or repack them together to match the new esp name example sg hair packs 1-6 combined into 1 plugin SGHairPack.esp Link to comment
CGi
i know that's possible, but this was not his initial question and his thought using the Merged Patch function to simply merge mod files was wrong. He needs to do some manual editing to really merge them. The Merged Patch function itself is just a patch. Link to comment
