R34N1M47OR Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 I decided to try and follow the tutorials and created a very basic animation just to see if it worked (I rather avoid spending days doing something that won't work) and not much to my surprise, even though I tried to follow every single step exactly as the guides say, when I load the game the animation won't show up. Yes, I've put the file in the mods folder. All I can think of is that the problem comes from the XML file, since everything else was quite straightforward but this step was a bit sketchy for me. I know how to make animations in blender, and converting them into clips was quite easy aswell. Creating the package file was easy too, but then comes the XML file which states [REMOVE IF UNUSED] all over the place and well, that's what I did. I made sure that every "<>" has its "</>". Maybe there is a more modern version of the template? I really don't know what could be wrong with this. The biggest problem I had was with the "animation clip name" but I used both the hexadecimal name (which seems off since both animations use the exact same code) and the name I added to them in S4PE, and still nothing either. Maybe the name should be something else? The tutorial offers a very nice step-to-step guide up until this point, where it breezes through most of the stuff. I appreciate that it's there in the first place, but now I'm kinda stuck. As I said the animation I made was pretty basic so I don't care if it ends up in the trash bin but I would really like to make some animations for this mod, but so far I don't really know how to solve this
TURBODRIVER Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Send your package file that you're trying to load into the game, it should be easy to spot what's wrong.

Sorry for the delay, lately I can barely get on the computer. Here it is. There's no intended effects or sounds or anything like that. Just a plain old animation. And as I said, I tried different "animation_clip_name", so I'm pretty sure right now it's just a bunch of numbers (those who didn't seem like it since they're the same for both animations, but I've tried different stuff and nothing worked) Nelsons.package
TURBODRIVER Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 "<T n="animation_clip_name">Nelson Male</T>" should be "<T n="animation_clip_name">Canzandridas:PosePack_202110141900031414_set_1</T>" and "<T n="animation_clip_name">Nelson Female</T>" should be "<T n="animation_clip_name">Canzandridas:PosePack_202110141900031414_set_2</T>". "animation_clip_name" is where you put the ClipName.

I can see it's the date and the number of the xml file, but I don't see how I was supposed to know what to put in there in the first place, since as far as I remember the tutorials simply didn't mention anything about it (maybe I had to search better? I'm pretty sure I read them from top to bottom but I don't know anymore). At least knowing that that part was specifically the problem makes me happy, since it makes sense lol The animation actually makes them T-pose for a second and immediately changes to a different one, but I presume that might be because I used blender 2.82 and not 2.70 to make them, and when I realized it had to be 2.70 specifically I just opened them with that version and saved without changing anything. I'll keep messing with it to see the results, but at least now I know how to make them appear in game
TURBODRIVER Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 "ClipName", it's the name of the variable inside of your animation. You click on the animation either in Sims4Studio or S4PE and read the variable named "ClipName". I will include a note on that in the instructions.

I really didn't know where to look, but it is in there indeed. I had never used any of these programs so I was a bit confused about everything lol
