579435 Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 I've seen some reference to a Version 2 of 2BA around recently, mostly attached to their own armor sets. I'm unsure if these are armor only or if the download itself is just so obscure so as to not show up when i google it. It seems to mostly include new sliders, and bodyslide breaks when I try to edit weights and sliders without it for some armors that use it. Any help is appreciated.
Papitas Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 Not obscure at all. Just download the main file you see here. It has new sliders, indeed. But it won't break anything if you mix versions. If you have 3BA 1.x and use 2.x presets on it, new sliders simply won't get applied. If you have 3BA 2.x and use 1.x presets, the preset will look as expected, because it doesn't use the new sliders. You will only have "problems" if you are using a 2.x preset and some of your armors are still using the old 1.x body (upgrading some specific armor to 2.x needs to be manually done). When that happens, 1.x armors will look a bit different than the 2.x ones, but that's certainly not "muh immersion" breaking.
579435 Posted October 6, 2021 Author Posted October 6, 2021 Ahh, now I see. Alright, I thought it was an entirely different mod due to the V2 part. 9 hours ago, Papitas said: Not obscure at all. See, the problem I'm having is that the reference shape with some armors absolutely refuses to change alongside sliders inside of BodySlide. I don't know why Either way, thank you for the clarification! If you can help me out with the reference I'd really appreciate it.
Papitas Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 Oooh. I think I know what you're talking about. Sometimes I've downloaded armors that seem to be badly done and they simply refuse to change, no mater what. When that happens, I... usually delete them :v, but if I really like that armor and really want to try to make it work, I: Open the culprit in Outfit Studio. Delete all base body shapes (all those named 3BA in your case). Import reference (may be uniboob, unibutt or unibody, depending on the armor) while selecting the Merge with existing sliders option. Select all armor meshes (while NOT selecting the reference shape I've just imported). Sliders > Conform Selected (I usually leave all default parameters on this). At this point, the armor should be deforming along the sliders. If that doesn't happen, I just ditch the whole thing and search for less problematic mods. If the armor deforms correctly, I delete the reference shape (the unibody, uniwhatever... ). This is the step that will make or break the armor: File > Add Project (Shift + Ctrl + O). Then add the body shape in the file called SSE 3BBB Amazing or something. DON'T ADD THIS FILE AS A REFERENCE; add it with Shift + Ctrl + O (if I correctly understood your problem, this is the step that should actually solve it). And that's usually it. Shouldn't take more than 2 minutes once you get a good grasp on the process. Incidentally, these should be roughly the steps needed to convert an armor from 3BA 1.x to 2.x. This works quite well 90% of the time. Since I'm no Outfit Studio expert, when all these steps fail I just simply toss away the mod. I usually find better armors, anyway.
579435 Posted October 7, 2021 Author Posted October 7, 2021 Thank you! As it is, all the armors I like are 2.0x, so thankfully no changes are needed haah I haven't tried it yet, but when i get the time I'll give your steps a shot. If they work, huzzah! If they don't, then lol delete indeed. Thank you again for the help!
Papitas Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Hopefully what I posted works. BTW. If only the reference body is failing but the armor per se isn't, you can skip all those steps involving Conform to Shape and stuff. Simply delete the 3BA models and then File > Add to Project. That will hopefully solve your problem.
579435 Posted October 7, 2021 Author Posted October 7, 2021 And just for the record Papitas, it did indeed work! Saved this thread for later haha. Thank you again. It was indeed just the body, the armor itself was fine. Thank you again!
Papitas Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Cool. Now you know why sometimes the armor deforms but not the body: it's because creators left the reference shape, instead of deleting it and add the base body using Add to Project.
