Ivan21545 Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 I don't get this - I really don't. Maybe someone here has encountered this before. Skyrim VR. I've got CBBE SMP and HDT-SMP, XP32, etc...everything installed, chosen body types, blah blah blah. It works perfectly. When a follower has no armor on, I can reach out with my virtual hands, and the collision between my hand and their breasts moves their breasts. As it should, as it was designed to do. Occasionally, this breaks and the only way to repair it is to go back to a previous save game. I can load the old game (which in some cases was just one or two saves before) and the collision works as intended. Load back the newer game, and nope - just normal physics with no collision from my gauntlet. Does any wise person here know what would cause two save games to behave differently like this without ANY mod changes or any other alterations on anything? Really stumped here. Thanks in advance for wisdom shared.
Ivan21545 Posted September 18, 2021 Author Posted September 18, 2021 Oh, and collision with other objects (mugs, food, etc) still works regardless. So it is something clearly in the body physics.
Shadowbroker3495 Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Personally i've got no experience with VR, but i've noticed that you are using CBBE SMP mod. If you are using CBBE 3BA mod, then it has already SMP included in newer versions. No need to use CBBE SMP mod in that case. If you are also using CBPC collision mods, maybe there is a conflict with SMP. It could be a VR specific problem but it is not uncommon in Skyrim modding, that some functionality can break in certain circumstances, even without VR. Anyway, even for VR experts, they are probably going to need a plugin and/or mod list to share some wisdom. I suggest you post list(s) here to increase odds of getting replies.

Thank you very much for the reply. I was more curious as to why one save gave could differ or break when the previous save game function - and functions (when I load it back again) with no problem whatsoever despite not changing any mod or anything else. This doesn't make sense to me, but I'm an amateur. I've got the Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer v1.62 CBBE SMP (3BBB) CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR - CBPC - Fomod Installer - Main File FORES Spells SE 7.0 PapyrusUtil VR HDT-SMP for VR 1.4.15 v2.2 BETA The rest are follower mods and some armors but don't affect physics (they don't impact the above, as I've found in xedit). But why one save would differ from the other is confusing.
Ivan21545 Posted September 18, 2021 Author Posted September 18, 2021 And its definitely related to my ability to interact (the VR gloves) and not the NPC's physics - as they can move their hands over their own body and affect the physics.
Ivan21545 Posted September 18, 2021 Author Posted September 18, 2021 Apparently HDT-SMP and CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR - CBPC - Fomod Installer - Main File are not intended to work together. Removing the former allows the latter to work. Though one save game working and one not - I don't get that at all. But I'm good now. Hopefully this helps someone someday.
Shadowbroker3495 Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Mods are usually storing values (some of them you can customize from MCM menu) in global variables. Those global variables are stored when you save game. Otherwise mods would load with default values every time you load a save game. If a value gets messed up for some reason, it is stored next time you save game. I think there may be a conflict with CBPC and SMP in your VR setup. Both mods are probably trying to handle collision for the same body part(s). As a result of conflict nothing happens. Long time since i installed Caliente mod last time but i don't remember specific SMP or CBPC setup options. CBBE 3BA mod has specific SMP and CBPC options to control, which collision type handles specific body parts. Without CBBE 3BA mod i'm not sure how that is handled. E.g. breast movement is either handled by SMP or CBPC, not both. The good question is then "why is it working for a while and then suddenly not". When collision breaks, is it in a specific situation that you can replicate or just randomly no matter what you did before that touch body action? There is a CBPC.log file in /data/skse/plugins folder. Probably not very helpful though.
Shadowbroker3495 Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 lol, you solved problem while i was writing a reply. Cool

I keep seeing mixed threads about this.. I have both, Most of my issues originally, was load order, and not running XP32. (which is often what I hear(read) is issue. (after running LOOT, I had alot less issues myself) As for reload save and not working, is likely do to way game handles info. Whats still stored in memory. So reloading save reloads certain info, but broken physics isn't being restarted. But loading a even older save causes game to restart all info it needs. Same reason you close a game/program out fully and restart it. Or unplug a device for 10seconds. It could simply be issue with game engine having a moment, and waiting it out may fix it. Or save your game, close game out and restart it. (which would help narrow out a cause)
