Daguy Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 A strange bug i'd like to get sorted. In (certain) chapels, the shadows are none-existant. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Pic included. This was taken in Kvatch.
Daguy Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Thtas... not very descriptive. Is it actually a problem or bug? And is there a cause or something to be done about it? Because it looks terrible.

Actually if you look up ambient it is very descriptive. It is a general light that is omnipresent and doesn't have a source. No source, no shadows. If you want shadows you need to have a source. The source could be a torch, lantern or the sun. This isn't a bug, nor is it a problem, it is just the way the game is. You can add a light source via the CS if it bothers you.
Daguy Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Aha, thanks. Yeah, I got what ambient lighting is, I was more unsure whether there was supposed to be another light source in the chapel. Some do, after all.
Guest ThatOne Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 There's plenty of ambient light in Oblivion (and video games in general). You can probably find a lighting overhaul on the Nexus if this really bothers you, or you can download Screenshooter's Illumination and use it when you want to take screenshots.
