FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 (New here so forgive me for any infringement on posting policies here.) I need serious help with this ENB and almost any ENB settings really. I've tried multiple ones with similar problems and they are all almost unplayable really. Firstly, every time before I even install anything, I carefully follow directions exactly how they were put to install them step-by-step. (I'm quite familiar with folder structure and where things go.) I re-read and re-read to make sure I did things right, and every time it's the same problems. I get some massive visual impairing 'glitches' on my game when enabling these ENB settings. Also note that when I disable it, my vanilla Skyrim with mods all work fine basically. I use Nexus Mod manager v0.44.13 and launch with skse v0.1.6.13, I use BOSS v2.1.1 for my load order and no problems or conflicts noted. I use the GenerateFNISForUsers v3.5 program by FNIS for my behavior files.  I also have HiAlgBoost running, although recently it decided to not load anymore with the last 2 ENB's I've tried (Might need to change it to load in enbseries.ini). If you guys need any more settings, details, loadorder, papyrus whatever let me know. Anyways I most recently tried this  http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18202/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D18202%26preview%3D&pUp=1 ENB series settings and followed the install instructions to the letter on his page.  I get some really huge bright 'blobs' of white that block most of my screen and character; only able to see the top with some weird white bright arches too. Sometimes it'll fix and go away when I alter some random settings that seem to have no pattern, rhyme or reason to them through this http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17400/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D17400%26preview%3D&pUp=1 ENB customizer that I use, but then I'll have this other issue too even when I get rid of the white blob of light. A border of frozen pixelated textures that remains motionless and stays there on the bottom portion of the screen. Also, when I alt tab sometimes the white blob of light comes back even after the settings seemed to initially 'fix' it. I've uploaded some photos to give you guys a visual of what I'm talking about here. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions, or any suggestions of what I'm dealing with here either way? I also uploaded the screenshots on ImageShack if you need or prefer to view them if allowed or needed. Anything else you need to know, just ask. Thanks  P.S. I can't upload the papyrus or ini settings on here for some reason.  [spoiler] Masters for: Save 58 - Prisonersdfs  Skyrim  00.05.16.ess 00  Skyrim.esm 01  Update.esm 02  Dawnguard.esm 03  HearthFires.esm 04  Dragonborn.esm 05  RaceCompatibility.esm 06  Brawl Bugs CE.esp 07  Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp  [Version 1.3.2c] 08  RaceCompatibilityUSKPOverride.esp 09  Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp  [Version 1.2.2] 0A  Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp  [Version 1.1.0] 0B  Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp  [Version 1.0.3] 0C  RevampedExteriorFog.esp 0D  Additional Player Voices for Skyrim.esp 0E  IceBreaker's Improved Reverb-v0.02-Cleaned.esp  [Version erb] 0F  realrainextended.esp 10  mintylightningmod.esp 11  fantasy music overhaul.esp 12  fantasy music overhaul - unique town music.esp 13  IMAGINATOR - Visual Control for Skyrim.esp 14  RaceMenu.esp 15  RaceMenuPlugin.esp 16  SkyUI.esp 17  1AlirArmor.esp 18  1CuteKnightArmor.esp 19  Earrings Set1.esp 1A  Ebony Samurai Plate Armor.esp 1B  Eyepatch.esp 1C  fox12 Armor.esp 1D  fox15 Armor.esp 1E  GandalfStaffWepMod.esp 1F  GDWeaponry.esp 20  lolilabs.esp 21  Maxwell Outfit.esp 22  Osare Underwear.esp 23  R18Pn - Ritter Armor - Heavy.esp 24  SkimpySilverlight.esp 25  StrapOnbyaeonv1.1.esp 26  WVS.esp 27  ZhaetheriaLegend.esp 28  WeightlessItems.esp 29  xvisionchildren.esp 2A  YChildren of the Sky.esp 2B  Shortcuts.esp 2C  FemaleWerewolf.esp 2D  Zero Effort Lockpicking.esp 2E  MTOH.esp 2F  TheEyesOfBeauty.esp  [Version 8] 30  CustomRaces.esp 31  Random Alternate Start.esp 32  RAS - Riverwood CharGen.esp 33  Facelight.esp 34  pick100.esp 35  skyrimaguas_Bigger Better Sun & Moons.esp 36  AnyBrow.esp 37  ToQasmoke.esp 38  Meridias Light.esp 39  Maiar.esp 3A  Andromeda.esp 3B  RANs Eyebrows.esp 3C  ADDC Pack.esp 3D  NeroFX117.esp 3E  Amaya.esp 3F  DragonWear FX117.esp 40  Fancy Dress.esp 41  Dark Mage.esp 42  Rider.esp 43  Zoe FX117.esp 44  Saviors Hide FX117.esp 45  Sanosuke.esp 46  Litch King FX117.esp 47  Field Mage FX117.esp 48  NatildesFaceOptions.esp      [/spoiler]   Â
Rayblue Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Probably has to be a video card problem, especially as far as memory is concerned. Â 1. Have you experienced similar problems with other games? 2. What's the specs of your PC? Â You can select-all, copy and paste the contents of the ini file onto the post.
lidowxxx Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 First of all and possibly most important of all, did you set "bFloatpointRendertarget=1" in your skyrim.ini? The huge white/purple blob of light happens mostly if you didn't properly set it in your skyrim.ini, which could be found in your "my documents" folder in case you didn't know. I checked the page you linked, the author of that ENB failed to mention the step in the installation instructions.
FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 First thanks for trying to help me out guys. @lidowxxx No I didn't have it but I did put it under [Display] and tested it now after saving it in my skyrim.ini to no effect. @Rayblue I do admit my pc is quite underpowered these days and is due for an upgrade probably this year. I did fail to mention that I did try this ENB http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23765//? with the best scenario so far. It didn't have the white blob but it did have a dark clear border about the same size as that pixelated border in the images I uploaded, but it wasn't frozen or pixelated or anything, just a clear annoying border that looked a bit darker than the rest of the game. And there was also like a double 'image of me sort of not TOO obvious but it was enough to annoy me so I therefore tried other ENB settings and made things much worse. My specs are laughable (IMHO) now but I've had no problems running ENB a year ago when I first played.  Here are my specs: AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.11 GHz 3.25GB DDR2 Mushkin memory, and a Radeon HD 4850 512mb VRAM. My VRAM is a low amount for alot of things ENB utilizes I'm sure so you could be right about that.  Here is my Skyrim ini setup: [General] sLanguage=ENGLISH uExterior Cell Buffer=36 uGridsToLoad=5 iPreloadSizeLimit=25690112 fDefaultFOV=85 fDefaultWorldFOV=85 fDefault1stPersonFOV=85 bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 [Display] fShadowLODMaxStartFade=1000.0 fSpecularLODMaxStartFade=2000.0 fLightLODMaxStartFade=3500.0 iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=512 bAllowScreenshot=1 iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=256 iShadowSplitCount=0 bActorSelfShadowing=0 bUseSunbeams=1 bSimpleLighting=0 bEquippedTorchesCastShadows=0 bUseThreadedMorpher=0 bUseThreadedMeshes=0 bUseThreadedTextures=0 fSunShadowUpdateTime=0.000 fSunUpdateThreshold=0.100 bFloatpointRendertarget=1 [Audio] fMusicDuckingSeconds=6.0 fMusicUnDuckingSeconds=8.0 fMenuModeFadeOutTime=3.0 fMenuModeFadeInTime=1.0 [Grass] bAllowCreateGrass=1 bAllowLoadGrass=0 bGrassPointLighting=1 bDrawShaderGrass=1 [GeneralWarnings] SGeneralMasterMismatchWarning=One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. lidowxxx Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 oops, that line is supposed to be in skyrimprefs.ini, not in skyrim.ini, my mistake, try to delete the line you added and then make sure it's set right in skyrimprefs.ini.Â
FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Ah right, don't know why I didn't check to verify that, but it's in my skyrimprefs.ini already.
lidowxxx Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Do you have the latest drivers installed? If you did, try another ENB and see if the problem persists. Some recommended ENB with low performance hit for your system:Â Â http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14646/? Â http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22056/?
FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 I'll get back to you in about an hour or so, gotta take care of a few things and then test it out and make sure my driver is up to date etc.
FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Small update: Updated drivers after uninstalling pre-existing ones but that seemed to have no effect on the problem either. I will uninstall the current ENB files and try out one or both of those performance ENB's and see how it goes.
FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Update: It seems the first link on the Performance and Quality ENB has proven to be without any obvious problems so far and runs just fine for the most part at first glance. I will test it more and modify some settings (not exactly the best look for ENB so far) but it's definitely better than no ENB and I may try the other ENB out too to see how I like it. I will post more if any more problems come up but so far thank you, this may be an issue of just underpowered hardware and needing an ENB geared more for performance.
Guest Robo00 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Which skyrimprefs.ini did you edited? The one in the game's folder where the exe is located or the one under documents\my games\skyrim?
FoundFate Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 The documents/my games/skyrim one, also I have a quick question about installing ENB's. They will always require an official ENB series version like 0.113 or whatever and asks to put the d3d9.dll into the skyrim folder. Then it asks to use their special ENB and extract all files including their d3d9.dll into the main folder to overwrite the other official one. What's the point of this or am I missing something here with that? Am I supposed to be always renaming one of the d3d9.dll's and do a proxydll into my enbseries.ini ?
Guest Robo00 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 ENB configs usually don't contain the d3d9.dll. Older ones did, but nowdays I only seen ENB configs that only tells you to download a specified version of ENB from the official site. You are not supposed to rename d3d9.dll and set it up as a proxy dll. The proxy dll is mainly for other special effects like SMAA or FXAA or SweetFX.
