Mimolette27 Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 Hey everyone, i finally got time to mod Skyrim SE for the first and i was wondering if i could use BHUNP with full SMP (NPC included ) with this Rig: -Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz -16,0 Go RAM DDR4 3200MHz C16 - RTX 2080 TI - 2560 x 1440 screens. My objectif is to get 60 fps everywhere. I know it's not recommended to use SMP on NPC but you never know ;). Done a bit a research but never found any real answer to my question. Thx in advance
Pauduan Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Should be OK. I run SE with CBBE SMP on a 9900+3060Ti and it is close to 60 everywhere. I've also helped a friend setup a half and half BHUNP HDT-PE and SMP setup and up to 4 tokens seems to be fine, though it does hit 30fps in some areas. That's on a Xeon E3 1280 V2, which is about half the performance of my 9900.
Tlam99 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 smp defines the framerate indirectly. If it causes script lag, you will have 1fps. All npc, then I would avoid other mods running scripts. 9900k handles 16 threads, not that much.
Numa_Cway Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 SMP is not the only thing that can influence FPS. I'm honestly more concerned about the rest especially visuals. Running full SMP in a beautifully modded hi-res Skyrim impacts FPS more than running full SMP in Minecraft Skyrim.

Another question, is it hard to put SMP only on follower/PC i make with Project Proteus ? (never used it)

Yeah i'm modding my skyrim so it looks nice, i'm actually downloading my last "must have" mods and i'm gonna take a test run to see how it handle.
Tlam99 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 I am not talking what influences framerate but how to mess up a save with scriptlag. Therefore I said indirectly. With 3BA you get spells or keys to assign smp to PC or selected NPC, no idea, if this is the case with BHUNP.

Acually read that from a reddit post today about BHUNP, gonna see when i come back from work.
anjenthedog Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I run both CBBE-3BBB and BHUNP in my installation, using a 9700K @4.3GHz , 64G primary ram, 500GB SSD , plus a modest 1060c 6G Nvidia card. Works fine and dandy. the primary is way overkill for Skyrim, so don't get hung up on that. 16G should be just fine) Can't speak to FPS as I don't measure it, but it seems to run pretty smoothly, although with my specs I doubt I get anywhere near 60fps and fwiw... NPCs use either BHUNP or CBBE-3BBB (NPC dependent) and my female player uses CBBE-3BBB (my male player shown in my avatar is pretty stock. ie, not himbo, so he doesn't count)
Mimolette27 Posted August 25, 2021 Author Posted August 25, 2021 So i endend up trying Full SMP for everyone and SMP for particular NPC, Full SMP run well but seem like it cause some stutter, decided to use the classic "add" SMP option ingame instead. Thx to everyone for the help .
anjenthedog Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 fyi, even with your specs, I might suggest keeping your NPCs on CBPC mode unless they're special (A favorite, always-present follower/"spouse" for instance), to reduce system load. You can always dynamically change their state, although you *will need to undress them again if you swap from CPBC to SMP mode (not sure why but it is what it is)

anjenthedog Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I see you multi quoted. While I try to keep HDT resource use by my followers to a minimum, each one uses two or three, including jewelry, hair, and clothing/armor. The only time they actually go wonky is when they're nekid and in smp mode, and it's not their hair that goes wonky, it's their breasts. They *do seem more prone to SMP's native instability than the player, although I'm not quite sure why. A quick hotkey action for the targeted follower (SMP>>CBPC) swap to shift back to CBPC mode solves it in most cases. In "bad" cases where that doesn't do the job, a console smp reset solves things handily. fwiw ymmv Ignore below. Leaving as legacy for transparency's sake, but my memory failed me on this claim vvvvvv PS> One thing I do use to help maintain SMP stability, that maybe others don't is a little known setting in one of the ini files that allows limited multiprocessing... I'll have to get back to you on that. though, as I can't recall where it's located.

On a another note,(completly off subject) how do you get SOS + belly collision to activate ? I've seen some post about it but i don't find them really clear (will try them anyway as i'm still in my testing phase right now). For SMP on NPC, i only gotta activate it on 2/3 npc max, mainly the one i will make with Project Proteus.
anjenthedog Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Meh. My bad... I was wrong. it's actually for CBPC, not SMP Located in CBPCSystem.ini in case you want to try it, but please ignore my claim on SMP processing. UseParallelProcessing = 2 #New experimental parallel processing code to increase performance. Can be 0, 1, 2. 2 is full. 0 is off. In my tests with an 8/16 core CPU, I got ~10% increase with 1, ~30% increase with 2 in extreme testing conditions.

Thx in advance I'm using AMD Ryzen 2700k and a standard 2080 and getting a solid 60fps all maxed out in 4k, your spec will run it np.
