Skyrim: weird magic effect when casting spells

I'm having a strange problem when casting spells, and I think Odin might be responsible.
That is, I've never encountered this problem before, and Odin is the only new magic-type mod I've installed with this character. I'm not 100% certain Odin is at fault, or if there is some sort of mod incompatibility, but it's the only thing I can think of.
To be clear, with this character I installed a whole bunch of new mods, but Odin is the only new magic mod.
My problem is that whenever I cast a spell, my character gets surrounded by a particle effect. It's very distracting, especially for a mage character.
The effect goes away if I finish casting a spell, but if I charge one up and then sheathe to cancel, the effect stays until the next time I successfully cast a spell.

I mean, it's not game-breaking or anything, just annoying. Really, really annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, with or without Odin?

I dont use odin, but what you could try is to use "More Informative Console",

you can get a ton of information with it, including active effects on your character. this will include ALL effects - including ones that never appear in your skyui menu. Might be tough to find, since especially if you have a complex load order / high level character, there can be a TON of active effects, but it almost certainly will be there somewhere.

*slaps forehead*

Why didn't I think of that? I'm using More Informative Console, I should have tried that first. Derp.

The problem now is recognizing what the damn effect is called
