Animations not appearing for males?

I heard that to make animations that were originally for females were supposed to work for males if you set it to "anything goes" but they still don't show up for my male sims. They work fine for my females. What could be a fix for this?

Go into Settings -> Sex Settings -> Gender Settings and see if the "Recognize males as both" option is checked.

Still doesn't appear to work. Works perfectly fine for female sims
