Removing black seams

Hi guys

I downloaded a model, which has the face composed by a mesh and its mirror copy. Between the two sides there's a seam, that it's not much visible in the short distance, but it's really noticeable if you zoom out a bit.
I've tried every DAMN thing to get rid of it, included the symmetry modifier, vertices weld, and many other things. It just seems impossible to remove.

After a lot of searching, i read that it's caused by the mipmaps, but i didn't find an (understandable) solution to remove the seam.

Suggestions?

Sounds to me like a texture uv wrap issue.  Have you tried re-wrapping the model.  The current uv map could be slightly extending off the skin portion of your texture file and picking up the untextured bit.

You might also want to touch up your texture file to see if that helps and then generate new mipmaps for it when you save your changes.

Yea, that is what I was talking about in the second instance.  Give yourself a bit more pixel padding and see if that takes care of you.

Also when you open up the texture file, but sure you do NOT import the mipmaps.  Then when you save your changes generate new ones.
