Hard crash in combat

Hopefully someone might have an answer to this.

 

I occasionally get a hard crash (lock up) when I'm in combat. It seems to happen when one or more npc/pc are doing power attacks.

 

For instance if I start a new game the first encounter in Helgen will always lead to the crash. Unless I save and quit/reload before I reach that point then it wont. Then throughout the game this will very randomly happen.

 

I'm wondering if maybe it could be a skeleton issue?

It not a skeleton issue, it is most likely going to be hardware related issue to do with rendering. So it is very important that we see your computer specs.

Could be an issue with memory.   Does this happen mostly indoors?  You can try the console command "pcb" to purge the buffers (free up some memory), but this would mean locations just prior to when you use the command would have to reload completely when you revisit those areas.

That's what I thought at first.

 

To be honest purging the buffers would be a temporary solution at best. One major conflict between him and a load of NPCs and he will most likely just crash again.
