RebelInfernal Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Ok, I know the pinned forum has the Nexus page FAQ but I'm an idiot. Please be gentle if I'm being stupid, ok? I have two questions - first, where is the Mods folder meant to be? There's Steam/Steamapps/Common/XCom2/XcomGame, or there's Steam/Steamapps/Common/XCom2/Xcom2-Warofthechosen/XcomGame. Is it a case of everything goes into the WOTC filepath if that's the version I'm playing or will some mods go into the base game path or both paths at once? Second, I realised while I was looking this up there's a Steam Workshop and a manual option and an Alternative Launcher. Given I'm planning on using both Nexus and adult LL mods I imagine it would be simpler to avoid the Workshop entirely, but can anyone let me know for sure if I can mix options or if there's a benefit or downside to a particular method of modding?

I skip Vortex from Nexus entirely. 50% of my Mods are downloaded from Steam-Workshop. After that they appear in the Modlauncher, where you have to activate them (simply klick the box right next to it). The adult mods (other 50%) are manuely downloaded/installed from this Forum I think. They are unzipped at \*your harddrive*\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Mods (like I said I play WOTC addon). After that you have to activate them as well in modlauncher XCOM2_AlternativeModLauncher_1.4.1 can be used from anywhere at your harddrive. Thanks so much for your help, this is brilliant! Only one thing to add i think. Make 2 copies of the alternative mod launcher if you plan to play both xcom2 + wotc. Don't start them both with the same launcher or you are in danger of mixing up mods.

After that you have to activate them as well in modlauncher Sorry, but I just noticed this. You install manually to xcom 2\XcomGame\Mods even for WOTC? Not XCOM 2\Xcom2-Warofthechosen\XcomGame\Mods?

Think I've found most of what I want but some of the downloads on LL are pretty messy and lead to dead links.
