SirJack02 Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 I do a lot of installing and uninstalling mods which needless to say causes quite a few issues. However I can usually resolve them fairly quickly, but not so with this time. can somebody maybe shed some insight on how i might go about "fixing" my save. Basically fixed to where it doesn't crash when I try to load it. below are the papyrus logs and netscript logs Papyrus.0.log Crash_2021_6_29_20-27-7.txt
Bluegunk Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Ah, the old SOS crash. If you are using Mod Organizer 2, go to SOS and "Hide" the SOS DLL. Run the game. It will protest about the missing DLL but ignore that. After a few minutes letting things settle and ignoring the errors, make a save, maybe two. Quit game. Unhide the SOS DLL and restart your game. Again wait a few minutes and let it settle. You should see SOS re-acquire its schlongs. once done, save game. After that use Re-Saver to check for errors, clean and save. Hopefully you should be good to go after that. It's not a good idea to withdraw mods mid game. No matter how much you clean up afterwards, there's still a lot of crud that gets stuck in the save. I acquire new mods on "test saves" that I can throw away if I don't like the mod. Sadly, if a mod does not work out it really is best to go back to the save before introducing that mod. Good luck!
SirJack02 Posted June 30, 2021 Author Posted June 30, 2021 thanks for the response. somehow i "fixed" it by uninstalling some mods and reinstalling. but in case i get that SOS crash problem again do you know how to hide the .dll in vortex since I don't use MO2.
Bluegunk Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Sorry - I don't use Vortex. You could physically hide the DLL by replacing the last L with another letter or number. Glad you're getting things going again!
