Yiffy Age: Paws and Claws with Shoes on - A practical solution.

Firstly, to all contributors of Yiffy Age, thanks for showing us such a wonderful furry world.

However, during my playthrough I find it disappointing that with vanilla digitigrade feet, fancy designed shoes just won't be displayed properly.

When equipping shoes to your favorite furries, you will most likely get one of these:

1. Bare-looking feet which is a little abrupt comparing to your heavily armored body;

2. or Normal shoes with no paws and change your height when equipped.

If you have the same problem, there's a practical compromise to this.

Probably slightly NSFW content:

In case you ask:

Animation: HEMA animation from Nexusmod;

Armor/Outfit: Kreis's Barbarian Defender Armor from Vectorplexus with minor changes;

Character: The forebears from Loverslab;

Crown/Circlet: BDO Gierach SAM Skimpy Refit from Vectorplexus with minor changes.

Credits to all these mod's creators.

Please forgive my bad modelling, the concept is there anyway...

Casual drawing of this inspiration (ignore this if you just want the result or just want to protect your eyes from my poor drawing QAQ):

An Asian-styled furry design for animal feet with shoes (or socks), which is quite commonly seen in Asian furry artworks.

Here's the instructions to modify your shoes and get such effect: (written from an amateur, and written for amateurs)

Spoiler

1. Installing any tools that is able to edit 3D models. Here I use BodySlide and Outfit Studio to do so;

2.Click "Outfit Studio", drag the digitigrade feet model (located in meshes\actors\character\BDBeastModels). Here I use caninemalefeet_1.nif;

3. Drag your favorite shoes model into Outfit Studio, utilize these tools above to fit your shoes to your feet;

4. Once done, click File->Save Project As... and set your project information properly, especially save path and file name, you can set these to be the same with your shoes, so that the edited models will overwrite old ones.

5. Quit to the BodySilde window, click Build and check if your shoe model changed.

6. You might need to edit the model several times because the feet model is not quite the same with that in the game. If you find your paws sink in the ground, don't worry, just open the Outfit Studio again, right click your feet shape, select Move... and move your feet shape by Z axis. Try a few times and you will get it. You may want to drag in two pair of feet, one is the actual feet position, another is the position your shoes should fit. You may also want to create a backup by simply change the Display Name to a different one when saving your edited model.

Hope you will get your Paws and Claws with your favorite Shoes On! Happy DIY. OwO

This is mostly a recent YA issue...  It's not hard to just excise the foot portion and run around with digi feet and heavy shinguards, essentially, for the old skeletal version.

The problem with using the specific foot models is that Bodyslide will apply that foot model to every race without updating ARMA records, and including a mesh for each of them. (At least, that was how it used to work when I tried using them myself months ago)

Indeed. To actually apply this method to all beast races requires modifications in esp files, or maybe create a patch. Just sharing the ideas of combining paws and shoes, it looks a little nicer ?.

If anybody is interested in this maybe I'll write an instruction later.
