PolarFox Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 After plenty of aggravating hours trying to get my character to look right, I came across this mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21452/ What it does is create a custom nord race while at the same time making the game recognise you as a nord, so no more dialogue referring to you as an outsider. That's not the reason I want to use it though. For some reason this mod alters my character's face even though its respective folder has the same exact meshes and textures as my vanilla (customised) nord race. It gives it a rounder look and thanks to Enhanced Character Edit I've finally gotten my character to look the way I want to. The issue here is that whatever custom armour (vanilla armour works fine) I put on doesn't show up and I end up naked even though I'm supposed to be wearing it. And before you ask, it's not an issue on my part, the author acknowledged it some time before abandoning the whole mod altogether. My question is, is there a way to either: 1. Fix the problem and make the armour appear properly. 2. Apply whatever this mod did to achieve that look to the vanilla nord race. Any help is much appreciated.

Just finished looking at this in the CK. It's quite a mess..... and speedynl is correct. Morph race and armor race were both set to none (a bug caused months ago by the 1.5 patch). The way he got the game to recognize his race as Nord, was to change a condition to every dialogue line that performs a race check during a quest, general dialogue, etc., that points to his custom race instead of the vanilla Nord race. The problem with this, is that if you want to run multiple race mods, the dialogue topics get screwed up as the quests get scrambled trying to load the topic for the last race in the load order, causing races higher in the load order to not be recognized at all. He also did little more than add the race to every pertinent headparts list to make everything work (hairs, skintones, eyebrows, etc..). The meshes and textures are all vanilla, but are renamed entirely wrong. He also did something to animations during character creation. All races EXCEPT his custom Nord race appear in the locked "t-pose" in the racemenu, utilizing no animations whatsoever. He didn't use RaceCompatibility either. So running this with other races without conflicts is not impossible. Essentially, it's a dead mod that was great for the time it was created, but is pretty useless now. It would be pretty easy to repair, but not really worth the effort for what basically amounts to a simple copy of the generic Nord race. Trykz

I suppose there's no point in trying to run a broken mod.
