How do I edit my own character's appearance in the construction set?

I can change the appearance of any NPC in the CS. How do I do that to myself? I tried editing Player aka Bendu Olu and it had no effect.

I'm not expert in this stuff, but as far I know u can't do this directly from CS ... U need to install what ever custom race u like from ( nexus ) then use command ( showracemenu ) and change your char .. U can use CS after that  with this race eps to change hair, eyes, skin ....
