Devious Devices no plug effect?

Something's gone funky with my Devious Devices. It started with both the anal and vaginal plugs remaining on the character while unequipped, took a few on/off toggles to get the prompt menu.

Now the plugs don't do anything anymore. They'll show up on the characters' body but there's no 'would you like to insert it' menu, nor do they vibrate.

 

I've started a new game, done the console commands to summon these items again but still, no effect.  Right now I'm reinstalling DD and hoping that this will fix something.

I'm not sure what the issue could be, but if i had to guess you using wrong items, is my understanding not all items on that mod have effects, I suggest trying different items, try something like "AddItemMenu" mod browse the few mods that are part of  "Devious Devices" and see if the same case with others.

 

DD has a few sub mods like:

Devious Devices - Integration
Devious Devices - Expansion
Devious Devices - Contraptions

Devious Devices - Assets

I've now completely reinstalled DD, started a new game but still no special (vibration) effects. This mod could do with a factory reset option through MCM.

I think I broke DD when I used the console command player.removeitem xxxxxxx 1 to remove a (faulty?) plug. I had unequipped everything normally, yet a plug was still visible on the character. through the command player.showinventory I saw that there was a plug equipped that wasn't shown in my inventory. Since removing that one, all plug effects stopped working. I've gone back to old savegames, reinstalled DD and done just about everything I could think of.
