A strange problem with FO4 Hotkeys

Does anyone know why the mod fails to correctly hotkey the Cryolator? It has a normal base ID like all the other weapons.

 

Yet every time you hotkey the Cryolator, then press the hotkey, it gives the message [You do not have Cryo Freeze equipped], as if it's hotkeying the enchantment Cryo Freeze instead of the weapon itself.

 

The mod provides the source scripts but I'm too noob to figure out what's causing the bug. Could any experienced modders help?

The file description says it does a check that the item is in the player inventory before equipping. If you added the cryolator to the player via console, try dropping it on the floor, picking it back up and then reassigning the hotkey.

I didn't actually add it from the console, I picked it up from Vault 111 the proper way. But yes I've also tried dropping it/modding it at a workbench.
